The role of the monarchy in Canada, the largest and oldest of the British former colonies that became “independent” in 1867, is embedded in its constitution. This was last revised in 1982, when the government of Pierre Trudeau, “repatriated” it to Canada from being a British piece of legislation. It retained the British monarch as Canada’s head of state. All Canadian legislation today is therefore done in the monarch’s name. Symbolic of this, Charles recently opened parliament and read the speech from the throne. To remove the monarchy from Canada’s government would require a constitutional amendment which the reformed constitution of 1982 made extremely difficult politically. The provinces would have a major say in such a decision. While not impossible to conceive, it would open a Pandora’s box of issues, not least Quebec sovereignty. Charles’ and his successor’s security on the Canadian throne thus looks fairly secure at this point in history.

This story was reported on Canadian news outlets. Our CBC throws a wide net for news and Australia is definitely covered on a regular basis for news items.

That day was as impactful in most of Canada as in the US since those of us who live in Eastern Canada share the same time zone as Nee York and experience the same daily routines in real time. I was on my way to my family doctor for an appointment at 9:15 and shortly before 9 the car radio announced that the BBC was reporting a plane had struck the WTC. When I got to the doctor’s office no one in the waiting room seemed aware but when I got back from seeing the doctor there was a buzz. On returning home I watched the second plane hit the north tower. I knew then this meant war.

Good or bad?

If you don’t like male gingers that prejudices you right from the start. 😆

Canada’s contestant is an embarrassment. I like Switzerland’s but never saw a guy like that when I lived there. Wow.

If the monarchy is to survive I think they will need a drastic slimming down. That means dropping all the hangers on from the Royal list. Just keep the immediate family on the payroll. Also scale back massively on the real estate. Too many palaces and castles. The majority would make very nice museums. People would pay to go see them. And a future government should make rejoining the EU a platform to get elected on. Brexit was a colossal mistake.

I would like to think that William has all the qualities that @Jamie21 ascribes to him but frankly I haven’t seen them on display to any great degree. Since he married his wife appears to have been the more popular figure. Unlike his father he does not appear to have carved out any independent role for himself that distinguishes his talents. If he is playing it safe then good for him. But if someone asked me what he stood for, I would be hard pressed to say.

I like and agree with most of your recs but not the one about being too old for that. In my youth I played a lot of sports and continued into middle age. But one by one I started dropping them as I felt I was tempting fate by continuing with ones that carried some risk. Like horseback riding ( hunting and competition jumping) downhill skiing, waterskiing and even cross country skiing. I gave up squash and tennis also. I also gave up sailing but that was mostly because I sold my boat along with the cottage that went with it. Now at 78 I do mostly walking and swimming. Easy on the joints and still good for cardio and general fitness. And of course I have not given up on fucking which keeps me flexible and in good spirits mentally,

If it was based on looks, personality and sex appeal, my vote would be for Prince Harry to succeed Charles as king. But of course it isn’t but rather that old custom and law of first born( now including girls). William has not aged well and now in his 40’s lacks the charisma of his younger brother. Of course Harry looks nothing like a Windsor and his paternity may be an issue if he ever came to be eligible to ascend the throne. But that’s pure speculation on my part. I just think his line will inject some sexiness to the Royal family line, like Princess Diana did.

Our Canadian English is the only unaccented English in the world. Lol The limeys, Aussies, Americans, Kiwis all speak with distinctive accents. Ours is neutral, at least to my ears. 😏

Providers - how often do you get stiffed?

More like how many nights was it occupied. -
What kind of food did they serve?

I read the other day of a study that shows lots of money makes people happier generally. They get to have more exciting experiences and a greater sense of security about their circumstances. Assuming there is no guilt attached to their riches. Fraudsters and the like are always looking over their shoulders to see if someone is going to catch them and they end up in prison. That’s no fun.

Well he might have a 11 inch foot.
-
So was I. Check out his ad on RM. The video is right there. I am assuming it was his foot.
-
In one of his videos he shows using his foot to penetrate the derrière floor of a client. That perhaps is a warning flag about what appendage he resorts to to get the job done.

In today’s NYT there is a lengthy report on the JPMorgan links to the Epstein case. In it they report on a party in the Hamptons attended by Epstein and many of his rich clients/associates, ultra wealthy men and their females wives/partners in their early 20’s. Not as young as Epstein’s favourites but 50-60 years younger than the men accompanying them. This is a cultural thing and is not restricted to America. You see the same thing on other continents and cultures. Youth is worshiped and flaunted by the rich. I guess the rest of us are a little guilty as well, In my own defence I prefer mature men in their late 20’s and 30’s and even up to 50. But then I am not Uber rich😆

He just joined on Sept2. Unless a name change.

I sent him a message on RM in August when I saw he was coming to Montreal. I know he received it but he didn’t respond. I was very polite as usual and asked about his availability. He is one of the few travelling escorts who has treated me this way. Oh well.

This has been going on since time immemorial. For both straights and gays. Nothing grotesque about it as it is part of the human behaviour ingrained in us.

I should add my current regular and I do overnights exclusively and he is generous with his time. We start around 5pm and he leaves in the late morning around 11. All for 1500. About 18 hours in total. No rushing at all at any time. And we get 8 hours of sleep total.
-
I find the 1500 fee for an overnight of 15 hours very competitive and what I generally pay. The 15 hours allows for plenty of play time, which I always break into at least 3 segments as in on meeting, after dinner and before bedtime and in the morning before breakfast. 6pm to 9 am. Sometimes we play in the middle of the night too for a half hour after I get up for my pee break. With this schedule we both get around 8 hours sleep, cumulatively.

My last dog died almost three years ago and I decided I wouldn’t get another. The main reason was I probably wouldn’t outlive a young dog. Also I didn’t want to adopt an older dog because that is when they start to have health issues. I was fortunate in that my three dogs had healthy lives but that is not always a given.
