I note you are in WashDC. Maybe all your clients were Congressmen or Senators doing important business on the Hill last night and were recovering today.

I read the comments on Adrien’s performance in the film with BelAmi and he doesn’t seem to have impressed reviewers. Otoh they liked Callum’s performance in the film, the top.

A grower, not a shower. They are indeed impressive to behold.

He expects the same from his clients, alluding to his taking care of his body. Good luck on that.

Well what are the stats of people dying of syphilis today as compared to cars like Lord Randolph Churchill or Karen Blixen (who was treated some say successfully) in 1915 long before penicillin appeared.
-
They would be 19th century stats.

The feds have now brought murder charges against Mangioni that include the death penalty. This is a game changer. Bragg is saying that the state case will run in parallel. We’ll have to see how that plays out. This shows to me how the justice system is going all out to attack this kind of crime that threatens the economic and political establishment.

I’ve seen a sample of Jamie’s porn on a free porn site.

That’s nonsense. There are many real things that I am glad to pay for, like an excellent bottle of wine of a great restaurant meal. These days even fresh air or clean water to swim in May cost something to obtain.

A writer in the NYT today, who is a former NY ADA, says the charge of terrorism by Alan Bragg increases the chance that there will be jury nullification.

Excuse me if I am mistaken but is this not the first provider who has not lived up to your expectations?

If that was the case why are they still referring to him as a loving husband. I get the father bit. But an estranged husband is not usually referred to that way.

You’re confusing system with healthcare science. The US system is widely considered the least efficient and effective in the G7 and other developed countries. Effective as in outcomes. The health sciences in the US are excellent and many advances are pioneered in the US. Unfortunately they are only available to those who can afford them, either through insurance or wealth.

I think of Mme. DeFarge in the Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. She and her cronies would sit at the guillotine each day as the heads of the aristocrats were being lopped off, sitting and knitting to pass the time. They would give up a cheer as each perceived oppressor of the common people was dispatched without mercy. It was a revolution after all. Dickens knew something about human nature. And portrayed it in unforgettable ways. I read that book over 60 years ago.

Young people are not smoking cigarettes as much as their parents and grandparents did. So maybe lung cancer the major cancer of earlier generations will not plague them. Certainly obesity is up everywhere and diet and lack of exercise are major contributors to cancers arising from those lifestyle choices. I’ve had my bout of prostate cancer 18 years ago and suffer skin cancers of the mildest form bcc from time to time because of suntanning when I was younger, which can’t be changed altho I avoid a lot of sun now. As we age tho cancer risks seem to increase. I have a female friend who is 4 years older than me and she was just diagnosed this last week with cancer in multiple places. They are doing an exploratory tomorrow to see how advanced it is. Up to now it was her heart which was giving her serious problems. And she is a woman who has been active all her life and did a lot of sports including tennis up to when she experienced the heart problems a couple of years ago.

I was just watching a show on Dick van Dyke the other night, celebrating his 97 th birthday last year in his home in Malibu with all his family, dozens of them down to great grandchildren. The backdrop was gorgeous as it was his patio on the coast. Two days ago, on the eve of his 98th, they had to evacuate.

I remember people saying that about OJ as well. Then jury nullification happened, to the surprise of almost everyone.
-
Interesting parallels between Thompson, the victim and Magioni, the alleged perpetrator. Both graduated from high school at the top of their class and valedictorian. Both excelled at university. One came from a privileged background and the other a humble one but each from a stable family. It appears what brought them together on a sidewalk in NewYork was what one did for a living and how it affected the other, in ways that still need to be determined.

I am thinking anyone who has ever had a dispute with their healthcare provider will also be excluded at the request of the prosecution.
-
I don’t think it can be shown that this was a random act. It was clearly targeted. There are certainly many random cold blooded murders in New York City, particularly on the subways. But this ain’t one of them.

The OJ Simpson trial showed that police animus towards Blacks would be seen by a jury as justification for letting off the murderer. In this case it will have to be seen if the public animus towards the health insurance industry will produce the same result. Time will tell. Of course a not guilty verdict would seem to say that it is open season on health insurance executives, an unacceptable outcome to the establishment. In that event one could contemplate that the only solution would be for the government to dispose of them and bring in public health care for all.

Yes and conservative affiliations at that.
