I stayed at the old Gouveneur many times and although it was a bit tired I always thought it was good value for reasonable rates. The new Hyatt looks gussied up and the rates reflect it. The problem is there is no fine dining within walking distance. The restaurants in the Village offer subpar food and atmosphere.
