I have not hired anyone yet, but I am smitten by a provider who charges $400 an hour and it gave me pause since my expenses have almost doubled in the past 5 years. It's also more difficult to move money around without being noticed if you have shared accounts. Same, the small increases are nice and I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, but it's not moving me up. As for stocks, the only good thing when they fall is that it's an opportunity to buy some good stocks on the cheap. When the market dips the good stocks go down in price with the lot, but bounce back higher once the market recovers.
