First, you learned a huge lesson on how all this works. 
Second, you really didn't know and he could read that about you. That is a very good escort. 
Lastly, if you had a great time and the chemistry and energy was there -- and he really did seem to enjoy it and was sincere in that statement -- I would hire him again in a heartbeat and offer to over-pay the next handful of times (break it up if you can't afford it) and be straight up honest about it. It's a teachable moment and you could turn out to be one of his best clients if you really valued him.

Two very different aesthetics, but both fun and easy to find what you're looking for (well, depending).
I was at both places about two weeks ago and had a great time.
 

The ones in Central London are Covent Garden Health Spa and Pleasuredrome. Both have a sauna, steam room, and a large hot tub that can seat 15 to 20 people. Pleasuredrome is a lot larger and plenty of cruising areas whereas CGHS is a lot more relaxing

There’s also Sweatbox in Soho, which is larger than Pleasuredrome, and it has a gym. There’s a few other smaller saunas around (one in Kennington, one near Marble Arch) which feel ‘local’. If you want a nice massage after your visit to the sauna my studio is within walking distance of Sweatbox or the Covent Garden sauna (just saying 😉). 

Ok, obviously it would be kinda DL, but wouldn’t it be great if there was some kind of large gathering bringing providers and clients together?  Maybe more of a large party than a convention.  Like the promoters could hire certain guys and use the ticket prices to cover services….does something like this exist in the world?

I afford hiring by only doing it once or twice per year, for an hour or two at a time.  I'm not rich like some other dudes here.  I'm actually quite poor.  I make about 32k a year.  I hire when I can after saving up for several months.  I'm proof that this hobby transcends social class.  It's not only for you rich douchebags.  I can pass.
I'm dirt poor, but even I can afford luxury once a year.
