In response: I cancelled the day before I was set to meet Ryan. His social media suggested to me he had been attending (and, I think, performing) at several house/sex parties in Texas right before coming here to Chicago. I wasn't comfortable with his COVID risk management.

My parents had at least one tall Scotch and soda every evening. Sunday morning breakfast included a shot of Crown Royal with a grapefruit juice chaser. I didn’t think that was unusual until I went away to college and then I realized they both drank far more than my classmates’ parents. Far more.
I enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine, but I can take it or leave it. I consider myself fortunate to not have alcohol so present in my life the way they did.
