Know anyone who has had weight loss surgery?
+ FreshFluff replied to + FreshFluff's topic in The Lounge
I'm not saying that mobility issues aren't a problem for many people. If that's the case for this person, I haven't heard about it or seen it. -

That's true for some people, but I don't think the person I am thinking of has any trouble getting around. -

Not sure there is a rational why. I think some people are just less easily satiated than others. For now, I eat pretty much whatever I want and have been happy with my weight. I don't know what I'll do if/when I have to choose between enjoying myself and looking good. (That said, I'm hardly the skinniest girl around here, but that look doesn't work for me anyway.) -

The gastric sleeve produces a significant weight loss (20% of base weight, I think), but unlike the lap band, it is irreversible. -

Mo Mason, you definitely wouldn't qualify. Minimum BMI to get insurance coverage is 40. Most people are happy with the results but some regret it because of the side effects. Sam.Fitzpatrick, glad it worked out for your sister even though she needed a second surgery. The problem she described is exactly what I'd be concerned about. BTW, I'm not having this done myself but someone I know is. I totally support the decision. I'm worried about the lifestyle change, but I hope it works out great. -
Do you know anyone who has had this surgery--the gastric sleeve in particular-- and regrets it?

Has your doctor ever gotten a stiffy while you were in his office?

Wow, you guys have a much higher pain tolerance than I do. -

Yeah, it's a little disappointing that the porn "doctor" took a much more detailed history (before he even got to the sexual stuff) than my actual doctor did. He didn't even ask whether I smoke or drink. He did weigh me though after I reminded him. Here's the thing: The choice of in-network PCPs who are taking new patients is limited, so you can't get perfection. Given a choice between a doctor who takes a detailed history and one who pays careful attention to the info I give him, I'll take the latter. For example, he looked carefully the lab results I gave him and offered to refer me for an exam that would rule out other issues. -

As if. For starters, the patient shouldn't be moving around during a surgical procedure. Also, the patient can't consent while under anesthesia of any kind. -

I can't tell if you're joking. Were you sedated? -

There was another case like this recently. A doctor ejaculated on several patients while they were under anesthesia. https://patch.com/new-york/upper-east-side-nyc/mt-sinai-doctor-who-ejaculated-patient-gets-2-years-prison-reports -

As I said, it's hard to be sure it was even a stiffy. It was a split second, and I was focused on breathing in and out. -

I appreciate your looking out for me, but I truly believe it was an accident. I think the incident might have made him nervous, which may be why he forgot to weigh me or even ask my height. (Or maybe that's just because I started the visit by filling him in on my recent health problems.) This guy's office is across the street from my home. He's willing to submit referrals I request and will order labwork that I need every few months. Many of the experienced in-network physicians in that complex aren't even accepting new patients. -

This doctor is very nice, but he's definitely not Dr McDreamy. For all I know, it might not have been erect. I only felt it for a split second. -

I love how they warn that watching a porn video isn't a substitute for seeing an actual doctor. -

Does a nurse have to be present for a routine exam? He didn't ask me to put on a gown. He stuck the stethoscope under my dress. That was my reaction too. -

Ooh, a handsome doctuh with a house on Fire Island. Your uniform probably helps/helped! -
I went to a new doctor the other day. While he was listening to my heart with the stethoscope, he got very close, and I'm pretty sure I felt his cock on my leg. I wasn't attracted to him, so I felt a little uncomfortable and crossed my leg over. I don't think he did it on purpose though, and he was very helpful otherwise so I'll give it a pass. (He forgot to weigh me and ask basic questions about smoking/alcohol use, but he had no problem giving out referrals.) Has this ever happened to anyone?

Your new-found attraction to women is convenient because the 40+ hetero dating world is a buyer's market. You get the pick of the litter. Your companions, whether male or female, don't need to know your entire relationship history on the first date. Trust me: Most women that age would be thrilled if a successful gay man turned bi for them . Most would even be fine with your having some occasional bi fun on the side. Just let them know your intentions and the kind of relationship you want, if any. Have fun!

Too straight looking to hook up with hot guys?
+ FreshFluff replied to MyWhorishWays's topic in The Lounge
Women's relationships with alpha males are akin to playing the lottery. Generally speaking, women have sex with the alpha male, in hopes that the alpha will choose them instead of one of the many other women available to him. As George Bernard Shaw put it, "the maternal instinct leads a woman to prefer a tenth share in a first rate man than exclusive possession of a third rate one." But eventually, most women want to settle down. If the alpha lottery doesn't work, they settle for a beta male, who is less desirable and scarce and thus has to offer support to land a woman. The woman is typically much less attracted to the beta than to an alpha, but she fulfills her marital duty in exchange for stability and partnership. It will go away about the same time that men stop being attracted to hot women. I do have a childhood friend who, because of her earlier experiences, didn't want to get married. She ended up marrying quiet early, but the agreement was that once they had kids, she'd work and he'd stay home with the kids. She ended up doing very well. Now, like a wealthy man, she travels the world while her husband stays home with the kids. I'd say that's the exception that proves the rule. -

To be fair, he didn't say he was that good looking. He said he has a cute face and works hard for his body. -

Let me guess: You have that fierce, you-wanna-go-outside-and-settle-this look that's so attractive to both men and women. That's fine, but it also makes it harder to meet people. Look at it from their POV: You could be a hot guy up for M4M sex, or you might rob and beat them up. Work on cultivating a more open, friendly expression. If you're as urban-looking as you say, it won't make you any less masc looking
