It’s true. There are places where merchants want to do everything electronically. But they are passing laws in some states and localities to require merchants to accept cash from those people, mostly low income, who do not use banks.

Like most large cities, there are some bad areas and some areas to avoid in philly. But center city, south philly, Rittenhouse Square, and Old City are fine. Lots to offer. Dining and entertainment. And yes great vibe and attitude in the city of brotherly love 🆚NYC

Philly is a great city. It’s large and has all the amenities of a large city. But it’s broken down into many neighborhoods so it feels more intimate. And awesome sports teams and hometown pride! Close to NYC and DC, only a short bus or train ride away. Highly recommend.

I really like the idea of living frugally in the USA and then enjoying really long trips and splurges to foreign places you love. Its the best of both worlds !

That really is a smart option. Moving to a state with low expenses and property taxes, downsizing to a small house or condo and doing a lot of travel is a wise idea. I know some folks who did that and they go on a dozen cruises a year.

The key is to interview them and develop a comfort level with them. Watch the fees.!! You should be able to meet with them a few times a year to review your goals and investments. The best ones are the ones who can help or advise on insurance, taxes, estate planning etc. It’s about getting a handle on your overall financial picture. The better connection you have with them the better the long term relationship ship. It will give you peace of mind. And if things do go south you can always switch in the future.

I would recommend spending a couple months in a place before thinking about making that kind of major move overseas. I have heard of both positive and negative experiences of folks who have done this. And yes 🙌 definitely find a place that has some sort of expat community nearby.

Masseurs would prefer cash. Plus it’s More discreet for the client. And no paper trail for the masseur. Electronic transactions leave a record.
