Hey man, tell the provider you're a little nervous. He'll know you are, and it helps you relax as well. Always found that providers will be friendlier and more accommodating if you say this. Fair warning though: This little hobby is addictive. Lots of fun, but it's like potato chips. One is never enough.

I think I have told the story on this site before about my having a nervous breakdown at 19 because I was involved in a non-sexual romantic relationship with a girl, and the psychotherapist my parents sent me to told me that I would get relief by being honest about my sexuality with my family and my girlfriend. So I came out to my parents, who were bemused, and to the girlfriend, who was confused. I didn't announce my orientation to the world, but if anyone was interested enough to ask me, I didn't deny that I was gay. By my mid-20s, however, I was starting to become radicalized by gay friends who were active in the gay rights movement (this was the 1960s), and from then on I was openly out. Amazingly, I don't think I ever suffered in any way from my openness, because I didn't flaunt my sexual orientation--I just didn't hide it. I lived with a male partner for 56 years (legally married for the last dozen years), and family, neighbors and employers all seemed to accept the situation without comment. Maybe I was just lucky (that's with a small L).

I lost the weight over a period of 4 months. It's not that drastic. I've also switched gyms recently so most of the guys in the new gym didn't know me from before.

I'm turning 45 this year. Most of the people in my family live well into their 70s while also being overweight and eating whatever they want. 
The real issue for me is that if I'm not getting any action and I'm not enjoying the food I eat then life is twice as less enjoyable. I mean, if I can get attention while I'm fat then why not enjoy the food and the sex?

They talked about The Pitt on Science Friday on NPR last week. It gets high marks from ER staff across the country in terms of it being realistic. I think it’s a great show and Pittsburgh is a good setting IMO.
