I loved the final episode. So many wonderful moments to savor. Can't wait to watch it again. I saw this after watching: I don't know who the woman is, and I don't know this Channel well. I think it's a politics channel. But I am fascinated by heteros who are fans of this show. Even though she can't stop giggling, she speaks from her heart about why this show affects her.

It saddens me to hear that some gay men still live in secrecy. I hope it's less true with younger folk.

Especially a gay story that's exciting to watch. I too hope Connor and Hudson are being treated well in this early stage. From what I've been reading, neither is wealthy, and both have to find a way to sustain life until the next pay check. I believe they get paid by the week once they start filming, and the paycheck depends on what salary was negotiated per episode. They lose a lot in taxes, so it may take some time before they can ride high like Timothée Chalamet, who at 29 is now making a fortune.

Isn't it human nature to tell at least one person? For many gays, the number jumps to 10. My late husband was a famous hairdresser. He had many celebrity clients but refused to speak about them in public. Even in private, he chose his words with great care (except with me). He used to say, "Once you lose their respect over privacy, the relationship is done." I remember he had a very famous surgeon client, who also worked on famous people. The surgeon was always careful to never name names, but when the surgeon was not in the room, the surgeon's wife would regale the guests with stories. We always thought this was in very bad taste, and it soured our thoughts on people's ability, even esteemed professionals, to respect client privacy.

I've been watching some Jacob Tierney videos. It sounds like their budget had lots of restrictions. He's extremely lucky his 6-episode effort is getting so much attention. And maybe HBO is picking up some bills. Nobody makes a killing on the pilot or the first season. Unknown actors are usually making scale. CAA should help with securing some commercial bucks. Imagine the need to wait tables to pay rent, while dealing with this kind of instant fame. Season 2 can't come fast enough.

I just discovered that Blake Mitchell died. Very sorry to get this news. He was a stand out for me. Don't usually pay much attention to that age group, but Blake was different. He was maturing quite nicely. I thought he was a real star.

I did not know S1 was only 6 episodes. Wow, that's not a lot of product. You are right, the time gap will be significant. Not much faith in the Hollywood machine. I hope the boys have something more reliable in their lives to deal with instant fame. Typically, it takes time for the money to catch up to the hype. Fame can fuck with a young mind. Too many ugly stories about that.

I guess I'm a little worried about oversaturation, and the too-fast, all-consuming publicity grab. I realize as actors you have to strike when the iron is hot, but these guys are everywhere, all-the-time, responding to the most inane interviewers, and being asked the most ridiculous questions. Enough already. Be careful what you wish for. Apparently, backlash has already started because Connor Storrie refuses to answer questions about his private sexual preferences, and Kit Connor from Heartstopper has already spoken out about it, given what happened to him in social media. From mad, obsessive love usually comes hate. America's infatuation with pop stuff can change on a dime. I wish these guy's handlers would cut back a bit on the social media shithole. Maybe it's just me.

Does one arrive with an umbrella?

I saw the film last night. Not sure what to say. I don't get the hype at all. I see the craft. It's a solid work. Good performances and work from everyone. But in the end, the story, so what? Do I want to watch it again? I don't think so. The best character in the film is played by Sean Penn, and he plays the complexity brilliantly, but what a weird, unlikable guy. The mother is crazy fun to watch, but then she disappears. The film has a Tarantino feel to it, but this is no Pulp Fiction or Inglourious Bastards, both films I saw three times. It had a $140 million budget, but it doesn't look like it. It made some money, but not nearly as much as was expected. Many are calling it a flop. OTOH, lots of people talking about Oscar Best Picture. The bar is really low these days.

There is an abundance of proof. Even with 6% on Rotten Tomatoes, All's Fair is raking in over 3-million viewers (great, by today's standards), and got renewed for a second season. In TV, "good" is always subjective. The story is based on a series of popular romance novels, which usually means "low quality fare" by default. This isn't Paddy Chayefsky. The show's creator, Jacob Tierney, continually says in interviews how surprised he is by viewer reactions. There is something unique going on here, and it's called a certain style of magic. Magic is rarely easy to achieve in the arts, but this show is having its moment. I see no harm at all in celebrating that, especially when the main characters are gay men in professional sports.

OMG, Epsiode 5. Holy shit! Everyone, and I mean everyone on the internet is talking about "the phone scene." I haven't cried like that since Elio's phone call with Oliver. Connor Storrie is now the toast of Hollywood. That was an Emmy award winning scene, and writers and directors everywhere are going to scramble to try and work with him. Everything about that scene was brilliant. I can't wait to watch the episode again.

I thought Monica Horan was absolutely brilliant casting as Amy. Her faces of horror mixed with anxiety were among the best in comedy. As for everything else said about delayed development, sad and unenlightened.

Not surprised. Network TV will grab whatever they can to survive these days. As a fan, I would be happy to watch Part 2. There are many more great stories, and much more to see that isn't on YouTube. I didn't know about a Pt 2, so thank you for posting this.

I, too, think it was the point. NYC is full of people like this, which almost any social occasion will reveal. I thought Sex in the City did a good job exposing all these folk, and giving them a welcome platform. Narcissists who only care about the dollar amount on a price tag.

I was reluctant to watch it, then the first 20 minutes grabbed me. In many ways, it's a very NYC movie. You won't find these characters in Indiana. I was surprised by the writing. I thought it was good. Dakota Johnson surprised me. I thought she was terrific. Pedro Pascal is always good. I guess the weakest link is Chris Evans. Sadly, he sometimes looks like he's had work done around his eyes, but he still has a bit of eye candy quality. It's not easy to buy him as a poor, unemployed actor. Perhaps a few more nude scenes could have helped with that. But all in all, I thought the film was an interesting effort. It has a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes. It made $108 million on a $20 million budget. Not bad.
