Like any facet in life, you have the good and not so good. As a client, I think you can gauge a lot from the profile, then that initial communication. Totally agree. When I said above that I don't respond, I meant that for someone I met one time and would not rehire. Never would do that with regulars or someone I would like to see again at some point. I have also gotten some follow ups that feel like a mass mailing. Those I definitely have no interest in.

I don't respond if I am no longer interested. It just seems pointless and I kind of assume the provider is not interested in niceties versus repeat business.

I have been lucky enough to find regulars both locally and where I travel for work. I have pretty much stopped sampling because of reasons spoken about on this thread. I repeat with my regulars because they treat me great and every session I have with them gets better each time. Trust, respect and comfort between the parties means a lot.

When he was in Allentown, I reached out to him also and felt like I was getting jerked around. Every option I gave him to meet he had some reason why it wouldn't work. Its almost like he doesn't want any business.

I get it is frustrating, but it is a two way street. I have never flaked on a provider. There have been times I have needed to cancel or reschedule (not often though), but I go out of my way to be as considerate as possible by notifying early or providing options to reschedule. What I have seen is when those situations have come up, I have gotten either ignored or completely blocked even though I have presented alternate options. I have also been no-showed at least a half dozen times. Not in my local area, but when I have been in Vegas and LA. I also recently booked a meet with a rather famous provider in Vegas, he took my deposit (yes I know, don't make deposits) then completely canceled his Rentmen account which was the only means to communicate with him. With that said, the majority of my experiences have been positive and I have met some wonderful providers. I factor these situations in as a risk when you partake in a hobby like this and are dealing with many types of personalities.

I find its mixed depending on the provider. When I travel for work I like to try and book several weeks before so I have something thats close to a sure thing. That also gives me a chance to see if I have a good vibe with the provider beforehand or should just move on. I just booked something in CA for early November and it took several tries to find someone I believe was really interested in my business.
