Just wondering if anybody else does this dumb thing or if it’s just me.  I only started hiring about 3 years ago, but I can see a pattern. (Okay, only twice, but still…). When I hire a man repeatedly because there’s great intimacy (at least from my perspective, I start to lose my grip on the reality and develop feelings.  I misread cues and think there’s a mutual thing developing.  Then the reality has to hit home that I’m not a romantic interest or even a hookup interest and I wouldn’t be there if I wasn’t paying. The man I currently see regularly - he pushes all my buttons physically and emotionally, and I could fall head over heels for him.  But I see him in rooms with guys who are hookups, not clients, and he talks about trips in which he meets someone in a room, they chat and are hot for each other, and travel to meet.  And it has to hit me then that I’m not one of those guys he met because he was attracted to them.  Big blow on both my ego and my heart.  Anybody else? Thoughts? Suggestions? And you don’t need to tell me it’s all my own fault - I already own that.  

See, this is why you look up someone on Company of Men BEFORE hiring.  I had much the same experiences.  Right after we he got there, he left to supposedly go to the gym (wearing jeans and heavy clothes) - I suspect he went for a quickie with someone else.  After he got back, he insisted on inviting someone else, whom he was clearly more interested in and wanted to wait until they got there to do anything.  He was charming and nice to talk to, incredible body which I barely got to touch, didn’t get hard, did some g and fell asleep.  After 5 hours watching him sleep to make sure he was still alive, I packed my stuff and left him in MY hotel room.  The next day (today) when I contacted him I got an angry response accusing me of drugging him and doing something to him in his sleep, and then asking for further payment because he “discounted” for me.  I’ve had some doozies, to be sure, but nobody ever left me feeling so awful.

I am starting to be really concerned about hiring from RM. Given the info shared in the long thread in The Deli about a provider who is clearly mentally ill and at least wants to appear dangerous, I’m wondering why his profile is still active and lists no negative reviews.  Adding a couple of my own experiences: one in which a provider threatened me with several actions like sending dangerous people to my house and showing up at my workplace unless I gave him money, and another in which a provider stole money from me.  In both cases, I submitted RM reviews and had email conversations with RM customer service in which I submitted our messaging which clearly showed I was being truthful. In both cases, my review was not published and the profiles remained active, with RM explanations that it’s not their responsibility.  So no wonder most providers have all 5 star ratings,   I know that aren’t legally responsible, but doesn’t seem like great service to either providers or clients if clients bail from the site because it isn’t safe.  
I suppose I have 3 questions for the hive mind: Is RM safe and do others also think they need to be more responsive to security issues? If I give up on RM, are there any other options? And lastly, what do y’all do to ensure your safety when hiring?

I’m a REALLY good repeat client when it clicks.  Of course, he’ll never know he’s wrong - but I’m going to let that take just a tiny bit of the sting from the experience.  I may be a dumbass in this who threw some money away with a stupid as fuck decision - but I’m not the only one.  

Whilst this story doesn't stop me from sending (small) deposits, it re-enforces why I never play with providers who PARTY.  
People who use these types of drugs are not bad people, but it does tend to make them behave in a bad way. 
Unless you are specifically looking for a PARTY experience - don't go there, and certainly don't send the entire fee upfront.

Don’t be ashamed…we all pay the “stupid tax” at some point.  Learn from it and move on. And thank you for making us aware - you probably saved someone else from paying the tax on this dude.

Chiming in to let you know you’re not alone. It’s happened to me. It’s happened to a lot of us, and it’s happened to many more who may not admit to it. I beat myself up for a day (or two) and then I let it go. Let me say that you were kind to let our community know of this.
