That approach certainly works in normal life but in today’s situation, saying “I can’t change that” only works if you aren’t touched by what is happening (privilege).  If your relatives or employees are being rounded up, you health isurance is at risk, or you job is in danger, I don’t see how one could say “oh well, can’t change that.  What’s for dinner?”

He did graduate from Northwestern.  Not exactly as prestigious as clown college, but it is a reputable school.   

I've heard more than one gay community voice say that the decision to put L first was in gratitude for the number of times lesbians cared for sick and dying gay men during the AIDS crisis.   I was too young and in the wrong part of the country to see that first hand. But I believe it.  
I will gladly put L first if even some of the L community cared for the rest of us in that time when the country, culture, and our families left us to die unattended.

I cannot believe you asked this question. You want to stir up an issue. When one is in Orlando you see many Asian brothers and sisters of ours. We Are One humanity. That is one example. When a city or an airport is primarily made up of white people when it usually is not then that is indicative that there is a problem. Tourism is down meaning people from other nations are not coming and that should not be news to you. I've refuse to elaborate further. I love diversity. I don't want everybody to be the same. And when I see white people everywhere in these very same places where that is not the norm the one has to pause and consider what the hell is going on. Enough said.

Let's not kid ourselves.

Everyone knows one can make money during a market collapse if you have disposable cash. Duh!  The thread topic is more about whether a recession is starting, how deep will it be, and for how long will it go on for.   

Why didn’t I Google it in the first place?  Fox News made $3.56 billion in 2024.  I couldn’t find the exact percentage, but apparently they make more in cable fees (every channel charges a fee to the cable company, which is then passed on to the consumer in the form of that whopper monthly cable bill) than in ad revenue.
Wow, so I guess they can pay such exorbitant salaries.  That said, I wouldn’t pay Sean Hannity 45 cents, forget $45 million.  The guy is annoying as f*ck and dumb as a post.  Watching him kiss his guests’ anuses is ultra-cringe.

I think a lot of gays claim to hate homophobia when really they hate Christianity, and Christians’ opposition to gay marriage or drag queen story hour gives gays justification for their anti-Christian hatred.
As for Anita Bryant, she very publicly campaigned to repeal gay antidiscrimination laws for a year or so, then quickly faded from political activism.  Her career fell apart due to the controversy, although one could argue since she was never that big or popular to begin with, there wasn’t much of a career to destroy.  Her personal life also unraveled:  a painful divorce, bankruptcy, tax liens.  It sounds like she died broke and in obscurity.  I get no joy from hearing that, but I’m guessing plenty of others do.

Anita Bryant’s legacy is a complex one—she caused real harm to LGBTQ people by campaigning against their basic rights, so it’s not surprising that many view her downfall as a form of poetic justice. But framing this as gays hating Christianity feels reductive. I would argue that the LGBTQ community doesn’t oppose Christianity itself; they oppose the weaponization of faith to justify discrimination. Christianity, like any belief system, can be practiced in ways that are inclusive and compassionate, or in ways that marginalize others. The backlash is against the latter—not the faith itself.
