I, for one, have never noticed that in hook up apps, primarily because I don’t really use them as much, but whenever I’m seeing asians on grindr or sniffies, I don’t really remember anybody putting “whites only” etc. I think to be honest, it’s more prevalent with straight couples, specifically asian women hunting for white men, not really in gay men community. But anyway, as I’ve said, I barely use those apps so I don’t know if my answer is accurate. But going back, that idea actually I think, was brought about by the westernization of some asian countries. Main stream media or tv etc., have taught asian countries and some other non western countries that the “ideal standard” is the western culture. Whether it’d be food, people, material things like cars, business brands etc. Like for example, in common porn sites, you would always find a lot of white men or western porn content options. You barely can see any other ethnicities unless you specify the search. It boils down to “western is the standard”. At the risk of getting bashed, I would use the word “glorifying” that standard too much. That’s why asian people think choosing the white/western option is the best option. But again, if that’s their preference, then people don’t have the right to incriminate them for it. Same way as white men prefer only other white men, it’s preference, so nobody should ever relate that to racism. Side note: again, just to reiterate, the topic and the OP (me) NEVER intended to present the idea of racist or RACISM. None of those words were entered in the post. The question/observation is to enlighten asian gay men/asians in general as to why westerners PREFER other westerners MOST of the time. NOBODY IS ATTACKING ANYBODY ❤️ have a blessed day 🤗

I don't consider it as a negative experience now. Initially, I felt bad for myself. But overtime, I realized and I know for a fact that I have tons of other options. And thank you for your answer. These types of answers are the ones I am looking for. Non judgmental.

It’s not just me in general. I’ve encountered other Asian gay men who lives here in the US as well. Some of them have the same sentiment as well. It has also been featured in some public articles whether online or not. And if you misinterpreted this question/observation, it reflects back to you, your mindset and personality overall. And just before this topic gets steered into RACISM, again, please read my post. I never ever stated RACIST/RACISM in my honest question/observation. I was simply asking (in summary) as to why MOST westerners choose other westerners as well. And I just simply specified that most of the time, they exclude ASIANS in their option. Just curious, why is it that the least attractive guys for gay community in western world are asians? Like 60-70% would already back out if they learned that the person is asian, especially with gay guys. I was on reddit earlier this morning, just killing time, when I responded to a topic about gay guys who love watching cfnm instead of cmnm, which is a weird topic, I know. But to make it short, I do watch cfnm sometimes and I like it better than cmnm in some instances but I always concentrate on the guy. This is probably the third or fourth time it happened to me on reddit, and one time I got blocked even, after I mentioned I'm Asian. We all know that the sauna or steam can be classified as a cruising spot for gay men right? Tried Jason at Ciao again after a long time. He did way better this time. Massage was ok, but the rest just confirms my overall thought about asian masseurs: that they have the necessary "skill sets" to satisfy a client. Had Peter again in his Flushing studio. He never fails with the massage, always more than satisfactory. I was just a little bothered about his hands because it’s rough, and you know it’s because of working too much as a massage therapist. I felt sad a bit. Tried another typical asian massage place, located in Fort Lee, name is 201 Healthy Spa. It just caught my eye because there’s a lot of unusual amount of male clients giving review in google who received massages from women lol. So I just tried to ask if they have any male massage therapists and they said yes. So I booked it prior to this f-ing blizzard. When I entered, I already saw the masseur. Probably late 40s or early 50s typical asian man. The massage was excellent. It was so great that I was ok if there’s no hint of any sensual. Also the curtains covering the cubicle entrance are too exposed and walls in between are too thin and not all the way enclosed. So I was like, maybe those men are just happy with their female masseuses. Yeah, we ended with me satisfied with clean massage 😔🤣

Maybe they were thinking "Men's massage" like with women masseuse. Clarify that you need a male massage therapist.

Since nobody wants to do the honors then I will be the first one to review Shawn’s massage just a while ago at Flushing location. When I entered the location, first thing I notice is that he had this “arrogant” or gangsta kind of vibe. He didn’t greet me with a smile, or spoke at all, dunno if that’s because of language barrier issue. He continued to walk and instructed me to use the elevator. Looks wise, I wouldn’t say he’s more handsome than some of prime masseurs. He has this typical almost twunkish young asian chinese face. He has this really dominant aura despite us I think having the same height lol. Massage wise, you can really tell that he’s an amateur. He was also yawning and just wants to finish the day because I’m the last client in that location. So at that point I was kind of turned off a bit. He definitely needs some coaching when it comes to sensual massage. Then I think when it came down to massaging the gluteal region, that’s when things turned into a redeeming situation. I wouldn’t say mind blowing moves in a massage but enough to make me interested. I am, as always, the vanilla type of gay guy, so when it comes to the number one question of gays, disclaimer: I cannot answer that.
