I can relate to your feelings completely in the respect that it is just a shower. It is and normally, everyone just got in and finished their shower. I was always terribly shy. My mother would tell me, "you don't have anything that every other boy has." It didn't help. We were supposed to shower after gym class in junior high, yet we always tried to avoid it. One day the coach comes in and says, "I want to see EVERYONE in the shower today." I was horrified; terrified I'd sprout a boner. 
In reality the experience was a non event. Everyone got in and got out without any problem whatsoever. I realized it was not a sexualized event. It was just a shower, and other guys were kinda shy as well. I did not feel a bit horny or even slightly turned on.
I remember this when the topic of gay guys playing team sports. You always hear the complaints about "not wanting to be naked or in the shower with a gay guy." In the end it's just a shower.
