Phoenix/Scottsdale residents and snowbirds may know of the longtime downtown Scottsdale ice cream/lunch institution, the Sugar Bowl.......Bil Keane, who lived in the area for decades before his death, was good friends with the owning family and would occasionally incorporate the Sugar Bowl in his comics.......by the way, Bil Keane has only one "l" in his first name because, according to him, his father kicked the "l" out of him as a child....

I once again scored TP and paper towels at the local ethnic grocery store in an obscure (bad) part of town.......despite my observing the purchase limits, I actually felt guilty buying the stuff!!.......but they had plenty of it, so that eased the angst a bit......

update: logged in 37 minutes ago after being off RM for ten days......

all regular Starbuck's(es) in my city are entirely closed and have been for a month or so......but those contract ones in grocery stores are open.....I went in to one and asked the staff person why even the drive-thrus are closed....she said one of the employees at one got covid-19 and it was decided that all employees would get a month off with full pay.......I didn't ask for further clarification, but this hard-working contract employee's tone spoke volumes....... I agree with @Epigonos that their regular coffee is horrible (bitter)....and their lattes are weak even with an extra shot......I prefer the local indies and only go to Starbux as a last resort or when traveling and I'm unfamiliar with a city......

Did anybody eat Totino's Party Pizza during college??! It's now square and very cheap. And delicious. After years of not eating it, I recently rediscovered it. Still good, but, gee, it's much smaller than it used to be.

I'm sure many here have seen the Bellagio Fountains and several of those have seen the "Time To Say Goodbye" version.....seeing this song in person at the fountains is a bucket-list item......absolutely incredible, but you gotta get lucky as it's only done a couple or so times per evening (a friendly chat with the concierge might get you a schedule??)......this video is well-done, but only shows the center portion of the fountains, unfortunately......check the comments by clicking on the youtube logo at lower right......as usual, full screen and volume!
