No, it’s not meaningless. Every rentmen ad lists “location,” right at the top. Use that. 

I, too, would prefer their main city to be listed. I guess if someone travels regularly, you could note that. But it's easier to search for someone on here who is visiting your city by their handle than to wade through 30 posts only to discover that none of them are near you.
