So interesting to read how different people's minds work. For me though the above snippet sums it up best (if I am understanding it properly). I don't consider myself to have particularly high self esteem but I go into these encounters expecting to be "pleased in every way possible". I question potential providers beforehand and if they don't do the things I like I don't hire in the first place. I understand that an experience can be anywhere from outstanding to dreadful even with careful vetting, but I go in expecting outstanding. If my expectations are met their "reward" (some might consider it a punishment ) is that I hire again. If not its a one and done. In fact most of my regulars over the last few years have been guys who have got back in touch with me after a pleasant first encounter (from both perspectives). So clearly they were happy enough not getting a tip.
As far as going above and beyond the call of duty I agree it would have to be something besides the actual sex and sadly that has never happened to me - except maybe Wicekdboy - he made me a cup of tea after we were done . Does that count? I didn't tip him. I feel bad now.

Oh my, the amazing ideas bandied about here! There is so much nonsense in this thread but I just couldn't help myself and read the entire thing. I'll never get that time back. It is surprising that there are so many newer posters here with different ideas about this frequently raised point. My favorite concept was expressed on the previous page - the idea of a "respectable" tip - well it just boggles my mind. The concept of a "respectable tip" implies such a sense of arrogant entitlement that seems shocking to me. A tip is a voluntary (well, maybe not in some instances. Some guys here still feel compelled to tip. . .) additional monetary reward for going beyond the purchaser's expectations. Some people it seems to me need to expect more for their hard-earned dollars. I've enjoyed many a fine fellow but really I can't say that I experienced anything beyond my expectations.
 
I will say though that Clen's description of his experience in the rain with Peter hung would probably qualify in my book as going beyond.

What kind of name is "Bog?" I can just imagine how it went at his baptism:

I think what the OP described could be just another manifestation of the BFE. Or at least the ex-BFE.

Just saw this now - Happy Belated Birthday. I too always enjoy your posts - I especially liked the "two down and one to go" set. Thanks for writing so honestly about your life.

It is difficult to make unerring generalizations about how any individual teenage male reacts to this kind of situation. I was technically a minor (17) when I first started to have sex with men, and it was always with adults, mostly in their 20s or 30s, but sometimes a lot older. A few were men who had palpable power, including celebrity. Sometimes I felt coerced or forced into doing things I didn't want to do sexually. But I never perceived it as abuse, merely an education in the ways of the world. Other youths obviously react differently, and some are damaged psychologically by the experience. Many years later, it is hard to tell who was scarred by the encounter with Levine, whose current state really reflects previous or subsequent experiences, and who is just being opportunistic at this point.

RandyC, thanks for posting that link. It made my day - the ad copy is hysterical, and yet I suspect that the product is quite worthwhile. I loved that animals were not used in testing the product, although I suspect quite a few self-identified pigs will be eager to try it out.

They apparently are BOTH very private people, so this drama should have remained private. Rapp shold have contacted Spacey privately to discuss his recollections and concerns. Something is just "fishy" here. Perhaps Rapp has a new work coming out soon, and needs a bit of hype ?

I'm not about victim blaming or shaming, but we need to stop making excuses for them as well for not speaking out... This kid was 14 then.... Hopes and dreams ???? You can always make excuses for Everything, just like Spacey is saying his behavior was just drunken antics, or Trump dismissing his behavior as lockeroom talk.... But hurling accusations many decades later, just really defeats the purpose, but still doesnt make it any less serious.... Let the courts of law decide, but in this case, it's too late. All the accuser did was discredit Spacey, and cast doubt on himself. How did this help ANYONE ?
