If you have arthritis the walk-in tub might be nice actually. they have a seat that would serve as your shower bench. Those places that install them are used to having to work quickly, as many people only get it once they absolutely have to.
-
If you think you're going to stay there for the rest of your life, you might consider a walk-in tub. They make some with jets etc.

A lot of them haven't updated the questionnaire to the new 3-month thing and still say 12-months. But frankly given the new FDA guidance I would feel comfortable lying and saying it had been 12 if it actually had been 3 months.

That article is misleading. It goes on to say that what's holding them up are things like.not having the swabs or other supplies to administer the test. If you don't have the supplies needed to test but just have the "test kit" piece, you do NOT have tests available.

If the nursing home has enough patients that already have COVID, staff that is infected might be taking care of just those residents.
-
It could simply be the case that the essential workers have already "taken the hit" and have almost all already had it/gotten over it. I expect going forward the fraction of deaths from nursing home victims will trend down for the same reason.

mid-late 30s is when you first start to feel that you've lost a step physically. When I was 33 I still felt like if I worked out and ate right I could set PRs in any physical endeavor I tried. Then I joined an adult dodgeball league, played well for a couple of seasons then all of a sudden I was the slow old man on the court. That change seemed to come out of the blue and was alarming because mentally I was projecting that trend and thinking things would be getting pretty grim pretty fast. But it was more like a leveling off than a sharp decline so it became less traumatic. I don't think in 10 years you will feel that way unless you are unhappy about other aspects of your life.

The worst has not begun and today, I found it hard to go on.

There are a fixed number of slots in American medical schools, so if you don't get into one here, you need to go abroad. That's a conscious decision on the part of "the system." -
Yeah, I found I got way fewer colds when I just started wearing gloves on the subway in the winter, and fewer still when I made it a point to wipe down treadmill and bike handles at the gym BEFORE using them, not just after. I think that does a lot more to break up chains of infection than people realize, and hope it proves to be the case for COVID. We won't be able to see that for a while though.

For the fogging thing you could also take a twist tie or a pipe cleaner and attach it to the mask and use it to crimp down the mask around your nose so air doesn't blow up into the glasses. Paper surgical masks tend to have a small piece of metal in them for this purpose.

EJ also disappeared from social media though. Makes me think he either got married or went back home to Turkey.

First Thing You'll Do After Shelter In Place Eases?
+ sniper replied to GayGamer323's topic in The Lounge
I'm not in CA but I think they just extended the power to order stuff closed until Aug 1, that doesn't mean they will use that power. Some restrictions are already being eased in some places in CA. The headlines miss a lot of the details and say shit like "Stay at home until X" and then what the article ACTUALLY says is "the orders COULD last until X." -

Haircut, massage, then Vegas. -
That seems like a misleading article. She talked about lifting restrictions graudally over the time period and they make it sound like she expects every restriction currently in place to still be in place the whole 3 months. Sounded more to me like she's saying SOME restrictions will still be going through July, not all of them. There's a real communications issue here where many people are summarizing any and all restrictions as shelter-in-place and any relaxation at all as dropping the restrctions, making it sound like anything goes, which is far from the case. We need some agreed-upon terminology and consistent usage.
-
I suppose if you restrict yourself to activities where you're both wearing masks that's not really horrible in terms of risk.
-
I don't think hiring makes sense for a long time. Finding an exclusive fuckbuddy you trust though, isn't really outlandishly dangerous. In the "you never know exactly where they've been" sense sure, but you have that every time you go to a store.

Public restrooms are going to need to put lids on toilets so people can close the lid then flush. -

That's weird. Jersey still has them. They wear masks and gloves plus they're outdoors, I doubt the risk is particularly high. I'd think the cashier inside the convenience store is much more at risk given the air circulation. -

I think ultimately we are going to find that gloves and masks together with just moderate distancing drop risks very substantially. The places they aren't working are nursing homes where the real issue is everybody is so close together and aides can't strip off and re-don equipment between each patient because it would take too long. Remember, the purpose for masks is when you CAN'T stay six feet apart. Six feet apart plus masks I'd be very surprised if they could show a transmission happened that way. Bathrooms are easy enough to address - take the door off every other stall. Which, frankly, most should do anyway because it's not cool to be pooping right next to a coworker... -
Adonis tried to get something going in Vegas around then and I remember going to a pop up show at what I assume was a failed.female.establishment. It was not that far off the Strip but the area felt sketchy as there was little to.no other traffic.around. I wonder if somebody could pick up some of the empty space in the Commercial.Center. There used to be a theater there and I don't think anyone took over the space. With two bathhouses and a gay bar in that strip mall it seems like it would be a good location.

Well, at least in your friend's case, it was over fairly quickly. I tend to think of the POA as "don't keep me on a machine for weeks or longer" and wouldn't be as concerned about a day or two delay. -
Also, if he works at a hotel, he probably gets crazy discounts on travel, so I wouldn't assume he's being flown around by older gentlemen of means. He probably has a flight attendant buddy, and one gets the flights comped, the other gets the room comped.

He's not unattractive but I think it's more that he's just your type or something. To each his own.

There are also traffic circles put in places where they are flat out inappropriate in the US. The one by the Bear Mountain Bridge in New York is awful. Too fast and terrible visibility.
