I think that line falls under what I would call "Just because you are correct, does not mean you should say it" category

I think this is a case of individual taste. If you want someone for a relationship, gay is obviously a requirement, but in terms of providers, as long as he does what you want, does it matter who he goes home to and who he fucks after the time is up? Personally, i think that is none of my business.

This is particularly annoying when i read porn blogs. If a porn star is gay for pay, then he is scum stealing gay dollars. If a porn star is gay, then he is a whore and a slut. Let's remember that sex work, like accounting, teaching, or practicing law, it is a job. Just because your job lets you sit behind a desk fully clothed doesn't mean you get to condescend on people who takes off their clothes and have sex for a living. Gay for pay/hustling/trade has existed since before most of us were ever born. Plenty of the players in the "golden age of gay porn" are gay for pay, but we are simply ignorant of their private lives before the age of social media. If you like someone, vet them for their ability to do their job, not about their private lives.

I think there are some sociological and cultural reasons, often related to the close knit nature of Asian communities and the low social status of sex work. (Asian here) Within the larger LGBT culture, the there has been a lack of demand for Asian performers in gay porn, and many people do not care for Asians (trust me, i have first hand experiences).
 
Although things are changing slowly, the gym culture (and the admiration of big muscled builds) was mostly a western phenomenon. Even in Japan, the most prolific gay porn producing country in east asia, you are more likely to see fit/atheletic guys and twinks before you see massive muscle. Koreans have embraced bodybuilding (lots of famous pro bodybuilders out there) but there is such a heavy social stigma on sex work and LGBT people that no one would jump that barrier (I know of one Korean muscle escort, EscortKor, but i havent seen his profile in a while). You are also less likely to see stright guys embracing gay for pay culture among Asians, where masculinity is prized.
