Nonsense? Recent estimates are that 3.8 million adults are trafficked for forced sexual exploitation and 1.0 million children are trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation. The problem of sex trafficking is real, and the power dynamics are real. This isn’t some rom-com gone bad. The question is how best to deal with and prevent it, not pretend it is made up.

The story is suspicious (it is the Post, after all), and not just because it uses the word “masseuse.” I don’t believe this: “…allegedly offered undercover cops sex acts for less than $100 — including some specific acts as an la carte option — following their massages earlier this year…” Following their massages? Like, the cop had a massage, then got the offer? Or the offer was being made upfront during the massage booking, that a happy ending was possible for extra following the massage? Neither one is plausible. And poor reporting is a Post specialty, so who knows what actually went down with the, uh, masseuse.
