  1. Perhaps, but keep in mind that most Americans have no idea what Malaysia is. Japan, they’ve heard of. 🤭
  2. Well, no. Cardinals travel to Rome with regularity for many functions, none more important than this one. Nor was the under-80 rule meant to reduce senility as a voting risk. Pope Paul VI introduced the rule to bust-up a sclerotic logjam of Italian conservatives in the College of Cardinals, increasing the chances for the next Pope to be non‐Italian and, possibly, a progressive. The Church needed to keep up with the changing world.
  3. One of his most important moves: Francis’ landmark 184-page climate change encyclical, “Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home,” served as a powerful call to action. Francis preached urgency and compassion. He asked the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics to open their eyes to the connections between the climate crisis, poverty and selfishness.
  4. Dropping Latin was an enormous change (some would say “mistake”), because it removed mystery from the ceremonial core. Out there in the pews, folks had been watching a magic show, directed by shamans, and suddenly they were just following along as a guy they knew chatted. Pope Francis understood the significance of the shift, I think, given his intent to be “the people’s pope” (especially following one who was sometimes called “Broadway Benedict.”) In accordance with his personal wishes, Francis will not be buried in the Vatican grottoes but instead at the Basilica of St. Mary Major, a church he visited more than 100 times during his papacy, before and after international trips, in devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Bernini is also buried there, so we know Francis had good taste. Pope Francis Lies in State in Open Casket at St. Peter's Basilica as Catholics Line Up to Pay Their Respects PEOPLE.COM Mourners are gathering to pay their respects to Pope Francis, who died earlier this week and is now lying in state in an open casket at St. Peter's...
  5. Some judgments are good. This one, for example.
  6. According to CNET comparison shopping, “Because of membership, delivery fees and tipping, you might think having groceries delivered is way more expensive, but the final tallies were remarkably close. And if you subscribe to the concept of time as money, online grocery shopping is surely the better bargain.” Also, ordering online for pickup, rather than delivery, is usually free if the total is above a modest minimum (at Ralph’s, if above $35). Then the motorized cart is not an issue — only the motorized car!
  7. Pope Paul VI introduced the rule more than 50 years ago. The rule, which went into effect Jan. 1, 1970, increased the chances for the next Pope to be non‐Italian and, possibly, a progressive. The rule eliminated 25 Cardinals who on Jan. 1 would be at least 80 from any conclave convened after that date to choose a new head of the Roman Catholic Church. Eleven of those Cardinals were Italians. Most of these and of the 14 non‐Italian Cardinals in the group were rightwing conservatives. Francis was the first to be liberal and non-European, so it’s slowly but surely working as hoped. With luck, the next Pope will also be liberal and non-European, building on Francis’ legacy.
  8. Pretty boy. Anybody been there, done that? https://rentmasseur.com/BrentG
  9. Prostate massage.
  10. Or perhaps Moldavian? (That’s Romanian for “hottie.”)
  11. Of course we are. Kinks can be f*cked up. Asphyxiophilia, for example. I don’t care if you do it or get off on watching it, but it’s f*cked up.
  12. Burbank? The ads say Ontario, which is 45 miles away from there. 🤔
  13. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that fantasy porn that eroticizes rape, exploitation and humiliation is f*cked up. Even when the performances are amateur hour crappy.
  14. Hilarious photoshopping. Assuming that’s his head, he does have good taste in bodies. 😎
  15. Any new provider would be smart to hire Maus for a session. Taking the role of client for a simple career investment, the newbie would learn a lot.
  16. I don’t get it. If the season “never took off,” how could the finale be a “letdown”? Wasn’t it just more of the same?
  17. Those are Tom Ford prices!!
  18. Aside from the drools, any experience? Maybe someone will after going to the PS Weekend, Coachella, etc.
  19. The finale, like the coconut milk, was “off.” Here’s hoping that Belinda, now privileged and conflicted, is the centerpiece of Season 4.
  20. Hated that speech. A feel-good contrivance. (And Tim never did seem too interested in who stole the gun he had also stolen. Maybe it was all those downers.)
  21. I like a top-notch technique.
  22. Because he lives in Stockton.
  23. Market corrections: 2008 Financial Crisis: The S&P 500 fell over 50%, but by 2013, it had fully recovered and surged to record highs. 2020 Pandemic Crash: The Market dropped 34% in 33 days but rallied and hit new highs by summer 2020. 2022 Inflation Shock: Due to Fed policy shifts, markets declined 19.4% but rebounded in 2023. The market declines today aren’t even close to those recent downturns.
  24. Probably, but this ain’t hardly “a market correction.”
