Perhaps it’s just me….but when someone claims to be straight….and I know what my expectations are for a massage, I immediately cross them off my list

Had a massage with Sandro. I’ve been wanting to try him for a while. Massage was fairly decent. Annoying thing is the tip negotiation. Not only is this guy, securely clipped/locked in with a fanny pack, his tank is tucked in and he kind of sets you up for a bait. He took MY hand and placed it somewhere very specific and then start chatting numbers. 🙄
Anyone try Ivan?

More squabbling about tips. Maybe everyone should mind their own business on the matter.
I will say, without referencing the specifics of the above thread, there is a plethora of masseurs in this town who have no idea what they are doing and should get ZERO tips, which might encourage them to do themselves and everyone else a favor by finding an alternative line of work. Compensation should reflect ability and performance. Massage budgets should go to guys who are interested in and are good at their jobs. The incompetents should be weeded out by marketplace feedback, including no tips.

Andrey teases but expects a tip that is normally given for extras.

Booked this place using a $40 discount code on their website and when I went to pay they demanded I write a positive review in their presence to get the discount. Nowhere on their site requires a review for the code to be applied. At any rate, it wasn't about the money, it was really about the principle. I refused to leave a review on google so I just paid full price and told them I won't be returning.
Space: their space is an office building; pretty tastefully decorated and almost zen feeling (I'll give them that).
Massage: the massuer didn't even mentioned his name nor did I ask. He was definitely not someone I would personally choose. However, he had excellent technique but really terrible breath. I was thankful that my face was down the entire time.
I do not recommend this place!!!!

BJNYC reacted to BeefyDude in Helpful hints when posting
Being on this site for many years now, I have seen many posts that:
1. Ask about multiple masseurs in a single post
2. Ask for recommendations in a city (without sharing what they are looking for)
3. Replies referencing a masseur not even mentioned in the original post
IMHO it would probably easier and better if you stuck to 1 masseur per post. The reason being: with multiple people mentioned it can be difficult to know who someone is commenting about. I have seen replies where no name is mentioned - so which one are they responding about?
When posting an open ended question about a city you are visiting, include some interests/what you are looking for. This might help get better/more responses
I'm NOT calling anyone out. These are just helpful hints based on what I have seen over the years. The intent is to help others get more (and helpful) responses. I'm not sure if there is a section or post here for newbies and/or how to get the best results when posting (if not maybe a good idea)?

Massages are strictly therapeutic even though they hint that they are not.

I have to say, the quality of the masseurs has gone down quite a bit at New paradise. It used to be that even if there weren’t “extras” you’d have a fairly decent therapeutic massage. Having tried almost all of the current roster, outside of maybe 1/2 providers, all have been lackluster and I would not repeat especially at their price point. The few decent masseurs that are there also seem a bit overworked/overbooked

Definitely some over promising and under delivering within the advertising hype regarding Kevin.
(He is a hottie, though.)

I had a pretty mediocre massage with him. I would skip.

I just had a 60 min massage with Mohammed tonight and have sort of mixed feelings on him. I think he's super talented with his hands but he's a bit lazy/repetitive with his movements. The strokes are long and sensual and feel amazing but I feel like he did the same move on each leg for waaaaaaayyyyyy too long. I suppose if I went again I could say something but i'm a very non-confrontational person. The massage was strictly therapeutic, fwiw.
