I would have put a spoiler alert on this. I'm glad I didn't see it before the movie. The audience seemed to be mostly older gay guys. (Of course, take into account that it was an afternoon showing in Greenwich Village.) I liked the movie, a lot. I thought it did a good job of conjuring up thee 90s and capturing the physical and emotional claustrophobia in which both the straight and gay characters lived. It also accurately portrayed how the weather and landscape look and feel in that part of upstate New York in the fall and early winter (I grew up about 90 miles west of there). The two main characters were distinct and effective, and you can see how their respective jobs influenced their emotional states. Blyth is hot, and, while Tovey is not my type, you can see how somebody like Blyth's character would go for him. (I went to the movie intending to evaluate the authenticity of the western New York accent but completely forgot once the movie started.) The climax is really impactful and leaves you almost as breathless as Blyth's character.
