1. From a prior post -

Pic is from a site barechested. Not sure if that means anything and why don't go guys know how to search an image?

    1. Right click on the image. Copy the image ADDRESS.

    2. Open Google-Images-click on to search an image.

    3. Paste copied address in the required box. Then search for the image.

    Easy, peasy.

  2. Having attended four (or maybe its five) pool parties, I think one of the great things is that since there are no photos, the cell phones are not seen and the guests are actually talking to each other. The only time I saw phones out was for individuals to exchange contact info.

I began attending this event in 2014 missing only 2020, so I’ve attended 7 events now. Even though there are some familiar faces each year there is always a new crop of attendees. I enjoy talking and meeting both providers and clients who share similar interests. My thanks go out to @Oliver for hosting the event, @Epigonos for all of the wonderful tasty hors d’oevures, @David-SF for hosting a pre-event with a special memorial to Guy/Daddy who created a website for like-minded participants to engage in discussion on some many different topics. I’m looking forward to next year as well.

  3. Only a week away! Looking forward to Palm Springs!

I'm game for making connections for the Tram or checking out Joshua Tree if anyone is interested.

    Hi,

How long will you be in PS? I'm also staying at Inndulge. My Sat & Sun are fully booked. I had thought about taking the tram on Monday (morning?) Leaving town Tue. I have wheels and vaccinations as well.

The PS Tram appears to be sold out on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, April 10-12. You have to reserve the tickets in advance. See: https://shop-us.vivaticket.com/pat/generaladmission.html

  4. Thank you Daddy for the consistent and dedicated love you gifted us with... for representing us thru easy and difficult times... for holding us to higher standards and helping us to better realize our selves, our potentials and our greater goal as individuals and a community~

Thank you for giving so much and so often even when you had less... for loving us like your own even at times you were alone... for helping us live what might never have been possible otherwise thru your hard and persistent efforts here and as a personal friend to so many~

Thru your life we are better individuals and a better community~

While this is the loss of you we feel... let this also be the spirit of you we find and celebrate~ May we find our way to carry on and complete the love~

Blessed be Beautiful Friend~ This full Moon will guide you along your journey~

With Love, Warmth and Full Heart...

    Thank you~

    ~Tyger~

    What a beautiful tribute!

  5. Super Junior it is kind of hit and miss. At the Canyon Club and INNdulge many of the guests staying at those two hotels will be participants. The easiest answer is simply ask. I taught in a public high school for over thirty years and at the beginning of each school year we had to wear name tags -- I hate the fucking things. At Trio prior to the dinner almost all of the participants meet in the bar and most of us approach anyone we don't know and ask. I, for example, am easy to spot, I'm ten years older than god, I'm bald and I wear glasses.

@Just Sayin' - No, no name tags are used. Here is a suggestion from a prior years post. Some attendees are creative and have a custom t-shirt made with their forum name screen printed. If you are staying at Inndulge or Canyon Club everyone is friendly and if you mingle you may quickly find guests in Palm Springs meeting with friends for a dinner on Saturday and a pool gathering on Sunday.

  6. I know this is a dumb question, but since I keep my cell phone turned off unless I need to make a call or send a text (I still have a landline in my apartment), but am always on my desktop computer, can you download and use apps from one? I go a few days at a time without talking to anyone (except myself).

@samhexum - The Snug Safety App is designed for a cell phone. It does not currently work on a desktop or iPad. I am not aware of a desktop solution.

  7. ... I think we should all have someone who speaks to us each day and knows how to reach us , especially someone like Daddy with diabetes.

So if there are any others out there who can go days without speaking to anyone, please make a contact and protect yourself. There may not be a Cooper in your life that will come looking for you if you do not prepare ahead of time.

There is an app for that! Snug Safety on the Apple App store and Google Play (see snugsafe.com). The app provides a free daily check in service for people living alone. The app is simple and easy to understand, no matter how comfortable (or uncomfortable) one may be with new technology.

Once an account is set up and you add an emergency contact email address and daily check in deadline. The app will remind the user before the chosen time every day, asking you to visit the app and to “check in”. All you have to do is push the big green button. If you don’t check in by the deadline, the emergency contact gets an email.

The app is free unless you upgrade. The upgrade provides a Snug dispatcher to call your cell phone to make sure you’re ok. If you don’t answer, then the dispatcher attempts an emergency contact or they will request a wellness check from the local authorities based on your cell phone’s last know location.

  8. I've stayed at both Canyon Club and Inndulge. Canyon club is much cheaper, but Inndulge is much nicer. Last year I lost about $600 to Inndulge due to their restrictive cancellation policy, COVID notwithstanding. I seem to remember that Canyon Club is more flexible. Since this year is still a little iffy, it may be the safer choice. My vaccinations are both scheduled for March, but one never knows. Also, I would predict a smaller group this year due to circumstances, so Canyon Club may have more participants staying there perhaps. I've been in seclusion for a year and badly need to go somewhere, but not without my shots.

@Despardo - FYI - I contacted Inndulge and they agreed to credit my current April 2021 reservation from my last years non-refundable deposit. Last years reservations deposit was essential for 2 nights on a 4 night reservation. When I cancelled last year, they offered two options - 3 free nights during June - August or 1 free night in Sept -November. I wasn't able to travel last year, so I asked for credit on my April 2021 stay. They agreed. Their policy is not as generous as other properties, but I didn't lose everything from last year.

Also, for reservations prior to May 15, 2021 they are using a 14 day cancellation policy. That's significantly different from last year which I assume is due to the Coachella event.

  9. To all:

I'm sorry for the bad news but I had to cancel my reservation at the INNDulge. I'm only 39 and I checked and it's highly unlikely that I'll get both vaccinations before the gathering in April (I thought I could try loitering around the clinics and wait for any non-used vaccines that would still be available after all the lines are gone but apparently, other people who aren't in the restricted-groups are already doing that). So to not risk myself or my mother (who's 73 and still needs me to come over to her house once a week to help her), I'll pass.

So I won't be able to make the Palm Springs event this year, but on the bright side, anyone who wants my reservation is free to do so. Just call INNDulge and ask for any openings after my cancelation.

It stinks but there's always next year. And if I recall correctly, there's also a forum gathering in Washington DC, correct? I never have been to the capital, so that would be a good vacation. :)

    Hi @m_writer

I understand your predicament. I too am not old enough nor have any health concerns to currently qualify under the current CDC guidelines for vaccination. I still have some hope to get vaccinated in time for the Palm Springs event. Yesterday, it was announced that Houston & Dallas may be designated as vaccine super sites created in coordination with FEMA to support mass vaccinations. The initial plans likely call for two sites with 5K to 6K additional vaccinations per day operating seven days a week for eight weeks. https://abc13.com/texas-vaccinations-houston-super-sites-covid-vaccine-how-many-vaccines-in/10321582/

The Washington DC event is planned around the MAL (Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend) which is currently scheduled for January 14-17, 2022. For details see: https://www.leatherweekend.com

I’ve not attended the DC event primarily because it’s held in the winter and it can be harsh in DC in January. Yep, I’m a southern guy who enjoys fair weather. Here is a link to the DC Forum Gathering for January 2020. https://m4m-forum.org/threads/dc-forum-gathering-mid-atlantic-leather-weekend-january-19-2020.153974/#post-1825082

  10. Okay, I want an honest answer. None of this “anything is appreciated” crap. I want to really know what is a decent tip on a rate of say, $300. What would be a bummer of a tip? And what would be an amazing remembered tip? Be honest!

$50 is a reasonable tip. Of course, I'm sure $100 would certainly be remembered.

  11. @Oliver, I understand and share your thoughts. I keep telling myself to be patient and this too shall pass. I’ve place intimate interactions on hold for the time being. I do appreciate some providers (like DavidSF) who are proactive in screening using home test kits. I do understand testing may produce false positive tests but I am confident that they are also getting more accurate as time passes and we learn more about the virus. I have a rather small group of friends that provides me with social interactions. I too have been using Zoom and Facetime to connect to special folks in my life to stay connected. I do get out and walk and bike the neighborhood and parks regularly. I’m looking for to cooler Fall temps. I try to take joy in the small things that I took for granted in the past. I also enjoy reading/listening Eric Hassan’s daily inspirational message on twitter.

I’ve taken more road trips this year just to get away. I find driving to visit family and friends does me a great deal of good. Pre C-19, I would have hopped on a plane without hesitation. Unfortunately, that’s something I’m not quite ready for yet.

We have to take care of our physical and mental health by finding ways to adapt to our environment. I’ve done much more cooking at home that I usual do. I actually enjoy finding new recipes to try. I try not to watch the news too much as it causes me stress. It is sad to see simple things like wearing a mask to protect others has become a political statement.

I am fortunate and thankful that I am financially secure, loved by family and friends and in good health. While I miss international travel, live theater and my annual visits to Palm Springs and NYC, I know that it is only temporary and look forward to more certain times to enjoy life. Stay safe, keep washing those hands and mask-up when you get out and about.

  12. Here's the link to the survey:

    Rentmen Survey

Full disclosure: No kickbacks or insider dealing is associated with this promo. Just trying to help my forum mates get some free stuff! :D

I received an email extending my premium membership for three months for completing the survey. thanks to jawjateck for the heads up and link! Appreciated! I'll buy you a beverage (beer/drink, what every) when I see you in PS next year! :)

  13. Guys, check your RM email. They are doing another survey asking for feedback and passing out 3 free premium months if you respond in the first 24 hours. The survey took a couple of minutes. They gave me 5 free months last year, so I figured why not grab it again.

    Nothing in my mailbox.
