Marc in Calif reacted to MassageMePlease in "ASK"
Said this before and I will say it again...if your listed price is "ask," I will be asking another masseur. Nothing screams "up charging" based on client preference over charging for the work you actually provide like not having a listed price for service. And yes I know I can search the reviews for clues but no thanks.
Rent Masseur has become much griftier in the last couple of years. If you are a masseur you should have a published base rate

Rate was $200 for erotic massage and standard extras included. More for above and beyond, but I don't know pricing

Well, we know that "Jake IS happy".  The question is - will he make us happy?  Looks like someone you may find at a spa.  A nice, different look about him.  May have potential for a good time.

I have talked to many providers over the years - many were regulars who transitioned into friends. None has ever mentioned any "tricks" other than making sure there are no sores or open wounds and using condoms.

I know I'm not a provider, but I've done plenty of work in non-profits dedicated to the physical and mental well-being of men, especially gay men, including a sector of the provider community that is typically at higher risk, so something that can be mentioned is that yes, condoms definitely help reducing the chances of an STIs, but does not eliminate them. Some STI's can be acquired orally by just kissing, and there are other things that are not necessarily considered STIs that can also be acquired with sexual contact, such as a the flu, crabs, and others.
My point with this is that it's important to remember that there's always risk, and what we can do is reduce the level of risk, not eliminate it. Yes, condoms help and are recommended for those who want to use protection, but we should keep in mind that all they do is resuce risk. It's a false sense of security to think that using condoms will not require ongoing testing if you are sexually active.
Also, there is a sector of the provider community that takes good care of themselves, which also reduces the risk of spread and transmission. I imagine you are greateful that the provider who called you did so. There's another sector of the provider community that is at a higher risk since they just work on the streets. Of course, that provides a higher health and personal safety risk.
Regardless of the use or non-use of condoms, as a sexually active person, I still make sure that everything is ok and get tested for things. I have a good relationship with my doctor, and (now a) she has conversations with me where I am candid about who/what I've done, for her to determine the appropriate testing recommendations.
My concern is that some people might just feel that they don;t need to test or that they are completely safe because they use condoms.
    Just my two cents.

Thanks for this.  I have to admit I am taking a risk, but I only do that with one provider.  I have seen him for over a year and he has assured me he stays on top of things, so I am trusting what he tells me.  Nevertheless, I get that I am rolling the dice.

    1. Bold to assume all clients left a review
    2. Safest approach would be stop bareback with escorts or strangers altogether
    3. Hiring is a risky game; bareback and hiring is a conscious choice

I think that it’s too difficult to track test results,  as once you take the test, the moment you touch someone else, your current status expires…. For example…. You’re feeling great, and you get a full panel of blood work on Monday . Tuesday afternoon you hook up with someone who has the clap and they give it to you. On Friday, you get your results that come back all negative, so you believe you have your license to ditch the condoms and hav a nice hot time over the weekend. You have naively exposed your weekend partners to the clap, but not intentionally.

Test results are only impactful if the tested individual abstains from sex from the date they’ve been tested until The date they have sex with you. Otherwise, test results are pointless.

This is also why testing has holes in it, in the porn industry. Once the circle of actors (who may have negative test results), have sex outside of their circle of tested peers, they all can get exposed.

I don’t know much about you, but the providers we see are open about their STI history.
I have friends that speak openly about STI scares. We’ve had a couple of scares but haven’t had one yet. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

DoxyPep use will inevitably result in more antibiotic resistant STI’s. It’s a longtime loser.
Im always surprised at how much pushback I get from people when I insist on condom use.

I routinely have conversations with providers.  Twice it's gone too far.  The first one now has a serious drug problem and I attempted to help, not a good idea.  The second one I saw for several years.  I went from a client, to a "boyfriend", to being "like family" - arg.  Now feelings are being hurt, as I really don't want to go on vacation with "family".
So yeah, I'm friendly, but not friends.

The takeaway is that rich people all like a little "naughty-naughty" so if you're staying at a four star or above, the service people are accustomed to finding fun for their customers that may be outside the realm of strictly legal.
Some of those boys couldn't have been more than 16. (Definitely not MY thing.) But as we learned with Epstein, powerful people get a thrill over crossing the line of legal.

My first time in Morrocco I hired a professional guide from the Mamounia Hotel where we were staying. Initially we just wanted him to get us to the best sites and some insight to avoiding scams. He was also instrumental in keeping all the trinket sellers away from us when we'd walk through the souk and got us into some incredible private restaurants that were off the regular tourist route. We asked him to join us for dinner one evening and he was talking about how he always works with Dolce and Gabbana when they are in town. And how he always gets them "anything and everything" they could want. So without trying to get him to divulge in exactly what his clients were up to we simply said that sounds amazing. We'd love to see some more of your secret locations. So he took us to a beautiful lounge where there were a lot of beautiful young men serving drinks who were available to take back to one of the small rooms upstairs from the lounge. That guide was worth every penny.  We got to see a whole underground economy of Marrakech.

This is all excellent information.  Thank you.   I am intrigued by your suggestion of involving a professional guide.  Would such a person be the male guide also accompanying the traveler on typical tourist excursions or a person to particularly seek out for assistance with procurement?  I am trying to envision how I might be successful in such an effort.  Decades ago, while traveling in Thailand, I found tuk-tuk drivers always wanting to find me a woman.  I quickly learned to say in Thai "I do not like women" and "I like men."  As I remember, I then was successful in finding male companions.  But I rarely saw that tuk-tuk ever again, so I might have been less timid about saying asking for help with what I wanted.

Back to the subject... I've been to Morocco, Senegal, Gambia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Lesotho.
I would say South Africa, particularly Cape Town is the easiest place to find a male escort who isn't going to give you any problems.
Morocco in Marakesh has an underground "anything goes" tourist culture where anything you want can be had for a price...but always at your own risk when something goes bad. If you want to procure quality company, hire a professional guide who can introduce you to the best providers in adult entertainment.
Other places I've traveled have legions of poor young men willing to make a few bucks by letting an American suck their dick..but again at your own peril. Local laws throughout much of Africa criminalizes homosexuality, but turns a blind eye when it's a tourist. Doesn't mean you can't get caught up in some drama and required to pay a bribe to make it go away.

Don't even bother trying to explain. There are many gays who so desperately want to bareback with everyone that they purposefully ignore the actual statistics on PreP.
