I made a same day appointment with a good looking escort. His location showed as very close to me. We exchanged texts and i told him about me, what i was looking for, sent him a photo.

He texted me his address gate code, apt number. I show up on time, and go to his apt door and no answer. Doesn’t respond to text or call.

Can any other escort tell me what is up with this? What sort of scam could possibly happening?

Sorry about the bad experience. I just had my forst experience where the masseur didn’t provided me with the actual location until 5 minutes before the appointment. Won’t be booking with him for a while, or never. The massage was just okay.

There is no excuse he can possibly use to explain why he didn't open the door, if it was his place. It was probably for the best. Sounds like trouble to me.

Move on… He ain't worth your time, don't turn into others on here obsessed on meeting one guy making plans 3 times and having him flake over and over again.

Had this happen some years ago with a then very popular guy from San Francisco. He was in DC and I go to his hotel, knock, no answer. I call get voicemail. Turn around and head to the elevator, my phone rings. Escort apologizes, says he was running an errand and less than five minutes away. Nearly 15 minutes later he shows up with shopping bags. I should not have waited but I did as he hand decent reviews. Well the experience was mediocre at best.

Our truncated session got cut even further. He was sharing the room with another well known SFO escort who had a client and they were waiting in the lobby. So we have to finish up and leave so the other escort and client can have their session. The four of us passed in the lobby. Escort and I make quick plans to at least have a drink to extend the time of his company.

Escort’s phone rings, his escort roommate says his client wants them both for his session. My escort apologizes and heads upstairs for the session with the other client. I left unfulfilled and pissed to say the least. The escort didn’t even offer to lower his fee.

This was in my early days of hiring. I was still learning the client ropes and new to this site. Today, if an escort were not to answer his door I’d be down the elevator and on the way home in milliseconds.

You should look on the positive side of this incident. The escort saved you several hundred dollars by no showing. You likely avoided a lousy experience.

I had a masseur from OKC who was visiting Dallas and he gave me the room number of the room across from his room. I knocked on the door and no answer. He then opens the door to where he’s staying and asked if I was here for a massage. Somewhat startled I said yes and he explained to me that he always used this method to screen for police and undesirable clients.

Then when I mentioned this in another thread he has the audacity to rip me a new asshole as if I’m the one who’s at fault. Sorry, Wally from OKC. That’s not standard operating procedure. Thank god no one answered the door to the wrong room.

His location showed as very close...

Location according to what?

Published? Shared directly by the guy? The RM or another site's GPS?

There could be any number of reasons.

  • Maybe called away on emergency
  • Maybe more lucrative outcall
  • Maybe fell asleep
  • Maybe got cold feet
  • Maybe a social retard who gets his jollies disrupting others' lives. And mom yelled "come up out of that basement for dinner now!"

Youll never know... just move on

Hmm...the person in the room across from his might have gotten pissed after, oh I don't know, the first time. Sheesh.

I had this happen to me, too. It turned out to be a guy playing games. The first time I tried to meet him, he cancelled about an hour before we were supposed to meet with the excuse that he had to take a friend to the emergency room and the friend didn't speak English. Repeat a second time with another excuse. The third time, I actually made it to his apt building (after confirming a couple of times). Once I arrived downstairs, he stopped communicating. Ok, fine. So, a month or two later I see his ad pop up again. I set up an appt via a different email and phone/text. I had no plans to meet him, but I was curious what he'd do. Of course, he cancelled with some lame excuse a couple of hours prior after I texted to confirm. (Again, I had no intention of actually meeting him at that point and I think I even had a real appt with someone else that day.) I let it be for now and we made plans to meet later. I reconfirmed our appt again the day of and everything was good. I was supposed to arrive at his place at 8pm (not that I was really going, of course). Around 7:45pm, he cancelled with another lame excuse after I sent my "almost there" text. At that point, I let him know that I already knew he was going to cancel and I wasn't planning to meet him since he had such a bad history of cancelling on me. Yes, I can be spiteful and I will play the long game if I feel I've been wronged. :D I must have had too much time on my hands, but I was willing to play the game in order to make sure he knew that he got "caught" trying to catfish me.

As far as the OP's original question of "why?" I can only guess that some people get a kick out of wasting people's time. I can't see how there would be any monetary gain out of catfishing a client. It's not like you paid in advance through a bank transfer or anything. Yes, maybe they had an emergency or took a regular client/better paying client? But to get all the way to the apt door? That's weird. If one of my regular masseurs took me and then I heard someone knocking at the door and calling their cell several times during my massage, I'd question what was going on.

Not sure what that would accomplish either way. Especially if the person happens to be in a heavily booked hotel. In addition, that could create unwarranted “disturbances” if the person in the ‘other’ room decides to call the front desk about a “strange man” knocking on their door. Then, to turn around and go into another room looks suspicious as fuck. Now imagine if 2 or 3 client came thru?

Regardless, people are just playing too many games on both sides nowadays. I spend more time answering texts, but not enough time making money.

All this has me wondering if it’s even worth it anymore. I ain’t got time for all this shit. America is just one big playground. I can understand stuff coming up, and it not working for true logistical reasons but based on the replies here and things I see on my own phone, there’s just no accountability or reliability. Especially all the having the person show up and not answer.

And what people (escorts and clients) don’t get, those kind of games are killing us more than the FOSTA bill is.

Agreed!! I do sometimes feel like I'm working 24/7 even when I'm not booked cause of constantly having to screen clients to see who is real and who is not.

It happens on both sides!! As escorts we learn the signs of someone that is just playing games. As a client you should not have to learn detective skills to figure out who is legit and who is not though! Sorry that happened to you! Like others said though he could have been playing games. Could be a newbie that got cold feet for whatever reason. I'd just move on though.
