Masseur best practices...

I know op mention this was outcall but these are things in general for me...

At home or when traveling, make sure you have a decent sound system for your music. A Bluetooth speaker goes a long way versus a tinny cell phone speaker.

Also don't text or check your phone with a client. We can tell.

Make sure you have used the bathroom before starting the session. I have had guys exit to pee before I understand nature calls but try to do everything to reduce the chance that you'll have to break pause the session. It's awkward lying on the table face down, naked, and and oiled up with nothing happening.

Don't short people on their time and give yourself enough of a buffer between clients. If I hire you for 90 min that's for the massage. Not from the second I walk into the door. Allowing a buffer is good because 1 the massage could escalate to something more and if you have an appointment later, you want to give yourself enough time to to give that client a good massage as well.

I'm flexible and always ask if a masseur is available after ☓ time for Y minutes. So that way I can work around them. Usually I'll try to be the last client or the first on an slow day which means it's likely to be a very fun massage. So be flexible and offer alternative times that will work if there is a conflict.

A few of the masseurs I have used have sworn by Biotone as a brand. I really like when they use almond oil. It feels really good and not super greasy and doesn't stain. Also warming it up a little feels awesome.

Always have cold water and maybe some candy for when people leave.

I'm OK with being contacted after the massage but a lot of guys don't like this. Especially if they are trying to be discreet. So consider that if you reach out after the sale. At least ask if it's OK to text them later before doing so. I used to have a guy sending me half nude photos and texts about specials over 6 months after I hired him. They always came at inappropriate times. And if you do contact at least make sure the text doesn't read like you're begging and on the verge of eviction.

Save water! Shower together!! :D That’s my story and I am sticking to it. ;)

Happens infrequently. The shower needs to be large enough to easily fit both of us. Dont mean to mislead, so let me be clear: they are masseurs, not escorts, so this is a shower and little more. This is usually not ‘on the clock’, post massage time.

Maybe this perk can be reserved for repeat and nice customers. :)

In 20 years of getting massages, and we’re talking about a lot of massages, I’ve had actual showers with the masseur twice.. once at my place and once at a spa. Both were exuberantly hot. Then there was one extraordinary time where a masseur gave me the most loving bath scrub. Alas, he didn’t get in with me, but it was amazing regardless.

Best bet at Spas is to do a table shower AFTER the massage. Nuff said.

Very nice points, and it seems that the list keep growing. My two cents is, that he should be able to read the client since the moment they met. For instance, I encounter some masseurs that talks too much during the massage, if the client doesn't engage in the conversation that should be enough sign for them to know when to be quite it. It is important to check on the client during the massage to make sure everything is ok, but the chatty chatty ?? No bueno!

Initial contact in call, email or text or when they walk through the door?

Ideally when you have the initial contact...text, email or call. If you only do outcalls it is okay to walk out if you do not feel comfortable/safe when you arrive at clients place.

It would be nice if the masseur communicated why he felt the need to leave.

I would be curious to hear from masseurs if this is an issue or something they have experienced.

This thread, indeed, has some fantastic tips.

For right now, I’ll add:

Have realistic expectations of your client’s appearance. While you may get lucky and get an appt. with a hot gym body, most of the time, that’s not going to happen. Be prepared to deal with heavy, older, partially physically disabled men, etc. and treat them all equally, even if you’re faking it. As long as you’re good at doing that, you'll get repeats. And if you decide HE is appropriate, at least pretend to be into it. I hate when you look up and the masseur is looking away and/or looking bored.

Get a portable table. Personally, I will not hire a masseur who doesn’t have one. Whether it’s true or not, I always think to myself if he were legit, he’d have a table. Plus, I’ve had several on beds and despise it. I can’t get comfortable, and I can’t see how the masseur can be comfortable. Plus it takes away one of the thrills of a massage for me, which is when they get close to my hand (if you know what I mean). Beds are awkward for that.

I recently had a massage where the masseur pulled up a you tube video to use as music. That would have been fine (the video was appropriate spa music) but the loud ad before the video killed the mood. I’ve also had masseurs play free pandora or Spotify stations that had ads in the middle.

A masseur needs to have proper music on his phone. Note I didn’t say streaming. This way there is no fumbling for WiFi or other issues. The music should be played through at least a portable speaker. If using the phone, make sure it is in airplane mode or at least have notifications silenced. I don’t want to hear a continual parade of beeps, chirps and dings as the masseur gets various messages.

For the love of god, don’t answer or text while in session (I’ve had multiple masseurs do this, never went back to any of them)

If you are in a rush, better to apologize and reschedule than to cut the session short and rush it.

I had this masseur that is very good. But one time he had something to do after the session and was running late or something. He cut the session short 10 minutes he didn’t apologize or anything... there were other minor issues... but this was not acceptable for me. I never hired him again.

Since he’s open to nude and sensual, I’d suggest that he offer something unique that differentiates himself.

I think guys who deliver and market a new experience - Lingam massage, edging, milking in various positions, tantric, etc are always very intriguing to me and probably commands more money.

I also am a fan of a masseur who runs the show. If a customer asks for particulars simply say “I will take you through a memorable experience that you’ll never forget”. I love to have an unknown experience and don’t like it pre-scripted.

Also I love when a masseur starts out by using drapery. It adds to the mystique. Even blindfolds or other elements that may be u expected.

Could you go into more detail about your blindfolding experience and other elements that made you pleasantly surprised? I'd be apprehensive if a new masseur blindfolds me... maybe if I've seen him for a while, I'd be open to that. But I wonder what's the magic of being blindfolded and what other elements are nice to add to the massage experience.

By the way, your message @NYMassageAddict reminds me of this https://mailer.chaosmen.com/2014/04-11-14/1392_chaosmen_ransom_santiago_edge_hires_001.jpg

Essential... always double check that you’re ringing the right apartment!!!

Between masseurs arriving late or not showing up at late, the final straw that broke me from having massages at my place was when one masseur rang the wrong apartment, was unfortunately let in and preceded to get into a horrible shouting match with my neighbor for “backing out of a massage session.”

He wasn’t the first masseur to ring the wrong apartment. Massage horror story thread, anyone?

Masseurs have told me clients get mixed up and also go to the wrong apartment. Neighbor answers the door and client tries to walk in. Hopefully they realize the mistake before they say something wrong like "I really am looking forward to this nude erotic massage".

A lot of these best practices go both ways.

Tons of great tips here...

Some masseurs doesn’t know this. As a client your face is down and you have no idea what’s going on inside the room. (Even if you know it’s just the two of you) So try to minimize or if possible have at least one hand always in contact with your client throughout the duration of the massage. It gives a client a sense of security during the massage session.

Hope this helps...

Create a unique 'masseur name', be original. So we can google or search this forum and find your info. Don't go by 'B' or 'Jon'.

And don't keep changing names every week. This is a major red flag for us. If you are good at what you do and treat customers with respect, no need to keep changing names to avoid others finding bad comments/review. We WILL find them anyway and you'll look even worse.
