A Miami escort years ago used to send similar messages and also had a friend calling escorts impersonating a police officer and asking "if they knew their activity was illegal". I have no information about this specific message and I understand why yinz are concerned about it. + Tarte Gogo 1

LaffingBear Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 (edited) Ya know.... I wonder about the effects on creeps. To be clear..... its not a good term, but I'll use it for this post. Members of this forum, legit clients, and any rentguy knows that are there are "creeps" out there. How many forum users just peruse the threads and post comments regarding rentguys, but never have or will hire? How many "creeps" waste rentguys' time with questions, fake appointments, etc? Don't they have a right to be creeps? What law is he breaking when Peter Pathetic, an experienced creep, searches backpage, contacts rentguys, asks loads of questions, perhaps even requests appointments, all the while knowing he'll never follow through? He's certainly a jerk, but a criminal? Sounds like a bad episode of Law & Order SVU, when the defense attorney in court reveals his client is a creep, but had no intent. Except, its plausible. I even wonder if the Human Trafficking witch hunt will reduce creeps' activities. Probably not. And, as devil's advocate, if the legal system represses the creepy urges, what might be the creeps' response? They're not likely to just refrain. CREEPY! Peace, Kipp Wait till your friend Sessions gets a hold on this... there have been already attempts to make sodomy illegal again despite the SCJ decision. If de Blasio ever does anything about this, you'll jump saying he's not following the federal law and he should be sent to jail... This wouldn’t apply to sites like RentMen. That’s not to say that the recent federal legislation doesn’t raise concerns about sites being shut down by internet servers, but police activity doesn’t seem to be focusing on gay sites full of adult males. Am I wrong on this?

Am I wrong on this? Not now, but they have shown before that they will go for easy targets. Especially if it means money can get seized. (How much money did they legally “steal” from rentboy’s bank accounts? Many millions if I remember well.) Maybe the solution is to be non-profit. Then you are not an attractive target for the NYPD. + StLouisOct 1
+ tassojunior Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Notice it is from the Human Trafficking Team. Once again equating prostitution with trafficking.[/quote Yup. The house sponsor of SESTA said they just decided to go after all prostitution because less prostitution, less trafficking. This equation is scary. Walker1, + stevenkesslar and marylander1940 3

That’s not to say that the recent federal legislation doesn’t raise concerns about sites being shut down by internet servers, but police activity doesn’t seem to be focusing on gay sites full of adult males. Am I wrong on this? From my experiences, yes, you are wrong. Law enforcement seems to go after gay activity much out of proportion to the perhaps 10% of the population. Maybe they try for 50/50 or maybe there's just an innate hatred of gay men by many in law enforcement and they try to figure an angle to arrest them because they're natural targets as a group. But gays are going to be subject to this more. + StLouisOct 1

Not to go into the whole issue here, but if you are stating you feel the emphasis is to crackdown on underage prostitution and those forced into it, wouldn't that apply to investigation for such cases on RentMen and gay sites full of adult males as well? TruthBTold Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I really don't get the whole thing. If I go online and contact some stranger and have them come fuck me it is OK but if I basically do the same thing for money it is some how horrible. It is nutty. + tassojunior Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Do what some in DC have tried where pot is legal but selling it is not. They sell cupcakes for $60 and give an eight of pot as a "freebie". (No, the cops don't buy that). Escorts can sell cupcakes.
