Well, they're still going on and we haven't seen the award for best picture yet.

But they showed the clips from Brokeback Mountain and, once again, you'd never know from what was onscreen that there was a single gay theme to this movie. I guess I shouldn't be frustrated, since BM is being honored in so many ways. But I do feel frustrated. Just how long will it be before people can feel free to show two men kissing on screen?

RE: Golden Globes

I wonder if "Brokeback" would've been as successful if they'd gone with the original title: "Fun With Dick and Dick."

Maybe I just watch too much TV and too many movies, but my first thought when I heard that Hugh Laurie ("House") and Geena Davis ("Commander in Chief") had won the Lead Actor/Actress-Drama/TV Awards was -- "Hey, Stuart Little's parents both won the same award!"

GREAT JOB REESE WITHERSPOON

I am watching the Globes now.. Tivo it.. LOL.. but I am so glad Reese Witherspoon won... she is AWESOME... I feel Brokeback Mountain's scenes that they show was perfect. The movie is a gay theme however its not the typical gay, so their no way to tell it gay unless they show the sex scenes (NOT).. or them kissing other than that.. you would never know they were gay.. That's why the movie is EXCELLENT.. acting was superb..

RE: Golden Globes

Don't forget "Best Original Song" sung by the silver-haired goddess, Emmylou Harris! All in all it was a gay old time at the Globes! Felicity Huffman won Best Actress for Transamerica, and the asian-american actress who won Best

Best Supporting Actress for a TV drama (Grey's Anatomy) thanked her "rock", Margo (whom I'm assuming is the woman she was seated with.)

Joachim Phoenix was seated with a rather handsome young thing too, I might add.

RE: Golden Globes

What was wrong with the camera crew and the wierd angle they had to shoot from? Did anyone else notice that at the Brokeback table Jake was sitting next to Heath but was never in the camera's view.

The most we saw of him was about a 2 inch sliver down the right side of the screen. Surely they should have been able to do better than that.

He wasn't nominated. Had he been nominated, the seating would have been different at that table.

RE: Golden Globes

IMHO..IF this crowd spent another hour drinking all the Free Booze, things would have been much more Entertaining! I did find some Fun moments..

Virginia Madsen holding what'shisname's glass, he definitely had a buzz going! Which judging by the look on her face, was not scripted.. Eastwood,The "John Wayne" of the Last 40 Year's giving one of the Brokeback Awards..

I also found it very strange that on MLK Day, Denzel did little but walk out, say Brokeback Mtn and Leave! He definitely looked a little pissed!

It was nice of Reese to say her Husband is working "Somewhere"! BUT I do believe the Cute and very Sexy Irishman... will be getting all of the possible Ryan Parts from now on! IMHO of course.. :7

RE: GREAT JOB REESE WITHERSPOON

Yesterday I had planned to go see "Brokeback Mountain"-- but after returning from Thailand just a day before, I will definitely make the necessary effort to see it today.

I am quite elated that it did so well at the award show last evening which I did manage to watch before retiring for the evening! :-)

RE: Golden Globes - Jake Gyllenhaal AWOL

I did not think that the guy at the table was Jake Gyllenhall based on the camera angles. Here's what defamer.com says about Jake being MIA. There's also some other item about Jake making a deal with the camera operators to include a "phalic symbol" in any of the close shots of Heath Ledger. Consequently, there are a couple of champagne bottles that keep showing up in the tight shots. Anybody catch those?

"AWOL At The Globes: Jake Gyllenhaal Alive And Well At Former Gay Cowboy Bar

READ MORE: Awards, Jake Gyllenhaal, golden globes, sightings

The single biggest complaint about last night’s Golden Globes ceremony seems to revolve around His Dreaminess’ jarring absence from the Brokeback lovefest. So let’s get your twisted awards seasons priorities straight, Jake: Palm Springs International Film Festival, yes, Golden Globes, no? And don’t give us this “I wasn’t nominated” crap. Who else could we have counted on to pull a Phillippe if Heath had won? Michelle Williams? She would have trouble tackling a roll of soggy paper towels.

And for those of you who were prepared to give Mr. Gyllenhaal a free pass, assuming he was in some far off Asian locale for the start of principal photography on the thawing sequel to The Day After Tomorrow, an operative sends in this Saturday night sighting of the missing-in-gay-cowboy-action star at a hot new east side hipster hangout..."
