biggerbilly Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 With prices already getting out of hand, it's going to be fun having to text people one by one to see that they're out of my price range.
coriolis888 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I'd like to remind everyone that the bill passed 98-2 in the Senate and 388-25 in the House. Even if Trump refuses to sign it, that's a veto-proof majority. What's done is done. He does not have to sign the bill. In three more days, the bill becomes law. "Alternately, the President can sit on the bill, taking no action on it at all. If the President takes no action at all, and ten days passes (not including Sundays), the bill becomes law without the President's signature. However, if the Congress has adjourned before the ten days passes and without a Presidential signature, the bill fails. This is known as a pocket veto."
+ José Soplanucas Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 (edited) Once the ad has expired all text narrative disappears. Here's an example. https://rentmen.eu/Osiris_Blade ~Boomer~ Boomer, the narrative has not disappeared in Osiris' ad. I do not want to link an ad because I do not want any RM monitor to target them, but I have more than one contact whose ad is expired and you can still see their phone numbers in the narratives. MikeyGMin Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Yes, that must be it. That's not it. I'm a member and I'm logged in. I still see his stats but whatever text he had in his ad has been replaced with "profile has expired." Strange.
Kevin Slater Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 phone number sin Is that like crank calling? Kevin Slater
+ José Soplanucas Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Is that like crank calling? Kevin Slater LOL. Bitch. I just fixed it. Kevin Slater 1
BabyBoomer Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I still see the text Boomer: That's not it. I'm a member and I'm logged in. I still see his stats but whatever text he had in his ad has been replaced with "profile has expired." Strange. Are either of you using a VPN? ~Boomer~

bostonman Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 For my experience - prices are still listed if you use the app version (I have an app on my desktop as well as on my phone). It's been a while since one could see them otherwise. If they are editing rate info from the ad text itself, indeed that may take a while, given the number of ads out there. If an ad expires, contact info is withheld (there's a prompt that explains that). So far I have not seen any changes in the last week or so (i.e. proactive changes because of this new bill). Obviously changes may be on the way, of course. In the meantime, I had never used a vpn before, and just tried one this week. The one big change I see through a vpn is that you can see the text comments in the reviews, if there are any. Which is nice.
+ Tarte Gogo Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Are you a RM member? I'm not. ~Boomer~ I am not a member and I can see the text.

BabyBoomer Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 (edited) @biggerbilly @latbear4blk @MikeyGMin @Tarte Gogo Problem solved. I just downloaded the Rentmen mobile app to my Note 5, now I can see everything. ~Boomer~ Edited March 31, 2018 by BabyBoomer MikeyGMin 1

I do not want to link an ad because I do not want any RM monitor to target them, but I have more than one contact whose ad is expired and you can still see their phone numbers in the narratives. I am a non-paying member and the ad is complete but when you click on "contact me", you get this message: "Phone is not available for expired/deactivated users!" Luckily Osiris has another ad... https://rentmen.eu/Osiris_Bladexxx

Luckily Osiris has another ad... https://rentmen.eu/Osiris_Bladexxx. Right. This is not a new change. It’s been my experience in general that when an ad has expired, the contact info (on that red “contact me” link) is no longer made available. The escort has to renew the ad in order to have it working properly again.
Reluctant Daddy Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 It looks to me like these change are only for US providers and clients, which seems to be a futile overall effort. If the idea is to make RM a platform that doesn’t facilitate prostitution, they need to apply those changes across the entire platform. A provider in NY has their ad cleansed of suggestive copy, rates and external links, while across the border a Montreal provider carries on, business as usual. It’s like a Disney Princess bandaid on a sword wound.

I wonder, could a guy set his profile location to a location without these concerns, say Antarctica, and use the visiting options to bypass these changes.

I am pretty sure you cannot do it, but if you can there is about to be a demographic explosion in Antarctica.
biggerbilly Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I am pretty sure you cannot do it, but if you can there is about to be a demographic explosion in Antarctica. I wonder why? I’ve know I’ve seen guys profiles in NY because they were visiting, but their homebase was somewhere else.
biggerbilly Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Like this guy is in France. But I wasn't searching France. I'm searching NY, and because he's visiting I can see him. https://rent.men/SLAVASUGARBABY

I am sure there are provisions in the system to avoid your suggestion to happen. Even if it were possible, I wonder if it would be financially feasible, as I understand you have to pay for your traveling ad to be publish somewhere else. One of the boys can educate us here.

I don’t think there is a system provision to prevent it, but a cost to multiple locations helps prevent it from happening. I do wonder if there is an extra charge, and how much. I remember a fake ad being talked about on the Deli where the locations where everywhere. Like NY, TX, and CA in the same day.

The point is that if RM wants to continue to be a viable option in the US under this new law, it needs to cleanse the whole platform of suggestive language, pricing, and links to external websites for all providers and clients. No more detailed reviews, not more “I am into...” section. If they do it only for US members, it still exists as a site to facilitate. They can’t effectively wipe it from one site, but allow it on another and in their app. Also, I’m wondering if the “we’re overseas” reasoning works if they’re operating a site that’s counter to this new law, while accepting membership payments and advertising dollars from US based persons and companies.
