While I was browsing https://www.masseurfinder.com/, I noticed a particular masseur I've hired (who is strictly therapeutic) popped up on my screen. I usually have it set on Relax, so I wondered if he was branching out. Then I realized there was no way to change the heal/relax format on my screen. Are my settings off, or has MF done away with "Heal" vs "Relax". This may make it harder to find the right masseur and will definitely require more vetting. Btw, this is via desktop and not phone.

I noticed the same just now and it's on both desktop and phone. wonder if they got rid of the choices which I'll find frustrating as I usually only view Relax choices because they're more likely to include sensual aspects (nude, HE, etc.). I know my locals but when I travel it'll be more difficult to navigate/choose in markets i'm unfamiliar with!

Earlier today I clicked on my account and a letter from masseurfinder came up - I can't get it to come up again - but it covered two topics: the consolidation of the heal and relax - basically saying it was confusing to have two sections and that new people when coming to the site for the first time would get confused by the choice and instead of clicking on one or the other would opt out and leave the site. Of course, mf created this poor distinction when they moved away from sensual and therapeutic designations. The other comment was around a change in the picture policy - which I could not access to actually read the policy despite a link. I think they are now going beyond putting a question mark on those masseurs' pictures on the city search pages to actually deleting all photos for a masseur unless they have a face pic. I also think they may be doing away with all shirtless photos. If you click on some of the profiles even though the pic on the city page is shirtless, on the actual masseur page they are gone. All more reasons to move to rentmasseur in the absence of a better option.

Thanks for the explanation.

I agree. This will also be problematic with traveling masseurs. Seems like we'll be seeing more 411s on this board now.

SESTA passed Congress today making escort sites federally illegal (10 yrs in!) so expect a lot of changes.

Wow....this is getting ugly. I just called my regular masseur and he filled me in. Masseurfinder is getting worse than Massage M4M, which at least allows ONE shirtless photo. MF now allows NONE. He said he got a notification that in ALL photos he must be in "professional attire." And this is a masseur with a HOT body. So he has to take down all his shirtless photos and cover up that hunky body with shirts in every photo. And he read me a laundry list of all the new requirements.....the list was so long it was insane. The change will go in effect tommw on MF....I just looked in NYC and they are already covering up :( I looked up SESTA on www.wikipedia.com which passed Congress today. Read up on it and educate yourself....I sure got an education reading about it on Wikipedia. When I read thru it, I got the strong impression that Daddy's Reviews website is at risk, according to the way they describe SESTA....and probably this forum is at risk, also, as mentioned on www.stopsesta.org. This is all so insane :(

With the changes I noticed that Vince’s site has changed as well

https://www.masseurfinder.com/members/persian_steel.shtml

He’s the white guy or mixed guy but I’m wondering who the other guy is. If he’s doing 4-handed with him it didn’t mention that on his ad. Not sure if this is a mistake but a friend of mine who hired him confirmed the different photos as well

Wouldn't they just create a new site? Or a competitor will fill the void?

Like when rentboy.com was gone, rentboy.pro appeared.

This is not about a site being closed by police for prostitution. This is about an internet service provider like Verizon being charged for carrying escort sites, even if they're overseas sites legal where they are.

It's like masseur going back in closet ( I mean clothes). This will give discovery whole lot interesting.

I seriously think this is going to take us back in time to when we used to look in the back of the gay local newspaper for massage print ads. These gay rags lost business when everyone went online looking for masseurs. Looks like they might get that business back. Ugh :(

Is this because of the Net Neutrality bs?

No, although no net neutrality gives service providers even more discretion as to whom they will carry.

In gay life this is more about BackPage and RentMen.

DOJ and states are shutting down BackPage's escort and massage ads and of course, they did close down RentBoy. But that's because both were in the US. RentMen and numerous other sites are based overseas and their servers are overseas. So SESTA's solution is to force internet service providers to block these sites or face up to 10 years in federal prison and lawsuits for damages brought by US citizens. It's especially hard for small internet providers who can't afford any expensive sort of filtering and even the big guys usually err on the side of too much caution and when in doubt....block.

It's as if the telephone company could be charged with a serious crime if someone called you with something illegal. Until now the internet has been treated that way, like a telephone service not responsible for what others use it for. Now there will be an internet exception to that rule for anything dealing with selling sex.

This is RIDICULOUS! I mean, I guess we could have guessed it was coming when they shut down RentBoy... Personally, I was in DENIAL, and just hoping the secret police wouldn't keep going down that path.

And yeah, masseurfinder already screwed everything up when they changed "Sensual" to "Relax" -- because then just about all the masseurs advertised in both Relax and Heal. So no biggie, if they merged the two sides.

But the new photo policy sounds absolutely ridiculous.

Is there a way we can push things back the other way? Get someone to fight for Freedom of Speech on the internet!!!

Is it possible for them to go after CL too then?
