1. Even if someone deletes a recording in front of you, it is usually easy to recover a deleted file. Therefore if the recording is stored on a tape or some sort of digital media, the only way you can know the recorder isn't going to recover the file is to take the tape or other media with you. I imagine most people wouldn't easily give up their entire laptop if that's what was being used to record. And then there is the issue that the recording might automatically be stored "in the cloud" anyway.

2. If a recording is shared for even a short amount of time on a site like XTube, a lot of people might have already downloaded copies which can then subsequently be posted again. So unless you know you caught the video immediately after it was posted and it was removed immediately, for all intents and purposes that video is out there for the world to see.

Most people? Where the hell do you live? Lol. I don't know a single person - and I know a lot of people - that have either cameras or security systems.

I do have 3 cameras at my place to watch my dog while I'm at work. But they are in the Kitchen, Living Room and Patio. None in the bedroom. And when I have guests I inform them or I just cover them, because I know they can freak out.

Had an experience with a guy this past weekend...while we were doing the deed I happened to glance up and notice a camera. I don't know how I missed it but when I saw it I freaked out. He put a sock over the camera but who knows how much was on video already. He said the camera wasn't on....who knows if that's true. I'm sure it will end up on xtube or something....but for him not to say anything to begin with kinda irritated me. Still had fun....but now that I realize my experience could be on video makes me a little nervous.

I would believe him... If he really wanted to record you, there are several of ways to do it, without you finding out. For as low as $20 in amazon.

Fine, it's illegal. File suit.

And then what? Assuming he actually shows up to court, get a judgement the escort probably can't pay? Be real.

If someone were filming me without permission in that situation, you bet your ass it wouldn't be a sock I'd be throwing.

Fraternities unfortunately are doing things like that as an initiation.

This reminds me of an unfortunately true story out of Montgomery County outside DC a few years ago.

Two gay men had a dog who was taken care of by the neighbor's teenage son after school until they got home from work. They started to notice the dog was acting fearful and distressed every day and eventually decided to put a nanny cam out to find out what was going on. What it showed was that the teenage neighbor was having anal sex with the dog. They took the recording to the mother and then to the police.

They were arrested for producing child pornography, fired from their jobs, had to register as sex offenders and move away. Possession or production of child pornography is a strict-liability crime that requires no showing of intent other than to film or possess. 100% true story. Frightening.

As a practical matter you may never know if you are out there. There are MILLIONS of porn videos out there on the web at this point, and it's not like in a situation like this the person is likely to put your name in it so it's searchable. That doesn't make it any less of a violation but it does diminish the odds that people who know you are going to find it.

If you are extremely attractive then I suppose it's more likely that you might find yourself outed, but probably not.

I had a run-in with a version of this issue in Pennsylvania. In PA, the homeowner does not have to disclose the use of spy cameras even to their spouse (co-owner.) The use of the camera becomes illegal if the courts determined that the spy camera was being used for self-gratification purposes. The cost to litigate was estimated to run between $40-50K (with no guarantees, of course.) Use Google images to check out 'spy cameras.' It's disgusting the lengths some people will go to serve their mental illness.

Welcome to the 21st Century.

When you go in any store cameras see you and from face recognition know who you are, what you buy etc.

Ditto airports and a lot of public areas. UK has been monitoring people's locations by FR for years.

People have had Nanny Cams for a long time to monitor what goes on in their house while they're away.

Kids are on Baby Cams until they're way past being babies. Employers watch every move you make.

Doorbells are rapidly becoming wifi cams to see who's at your door, even if you're not home. Amazon paid $1B for Ring yesterday.

WiFi cameras are often $30. The expense is a service to load them on the web Cloud instead of sd cards.

I have cameras in every room because if I'm broken into I want to be able to call up the time and see the person.

You have a reasonable expectation of privacy in a toilet stall, a dressing room and maybe a couple other places, including a bed you're having sex in.

I would always cover a camera during sex as a courtesy and let someone know hoping that habit spreads.

Of course, someone would have to give permission for sex recording.

There's a New World Order and we have the privacy of zoo animals.

I actually saw video on PornHub a few months back. A "girl" had her cam hidden...or so she thought. A guy arrived to her motel room and you can already tell he's paranoid about certain things. He asked for the curtains to be closed and some lights off. They started playing for 30 seconds and he spotted her camera straight ahead. Think he said something like "you didn't say anything about recording".....he quickly zipped up his pants and left.
