>That Bill Hemmer wasn't fired by CNN, Bill was snatched up by

>FOX NEWS where he's doing a super job. Perhaps, Aaron has

>had the same good fortune. (Hemmer is a very attractive guy,

>by the way).

I think the actual facts are that CNN wanted Hemmer to replace John King as their White House reporter and Hemmer considered that to be either a lateral move or more likely, a demotion - so he tendered his resignation (which was accepted) and joined Fox. Perhaps the attempt to get him to take the White House post was CNN's inventive way of getting him to quit, thus saving giving him a huge severance package.

I would be interested in knowing what an anchor like Hemmer would earn. Anyone know?

I have yet to actually see Hemmer on TV since his move to Fox. What time is he usually on? Perhaps we simply don't get it on our local Fox channel. It could be because our cable provider is always fucking around with the programing.

>But WOLF? Flat Out... When you are that unattractive you

>don't call yourself Wolf,and grow a beard!

Right on! I'd say he should get a job in radio, but that still wouldn't address his horrible voice and delivery.

>That Whiney, Fast delivery to make everthing he is saying

>SOUND Important, is plain irritating!

I'd love to see his score on an IQ test?

RE: Aaron Brown - CNN

>Bill Hemmer? Not as pretty in person as he is on TV.

Probably because he doesn't always have the network's make-up artists at his beck and call. When he was with CNN and covering on location the "shock & awe" part of our invasion, there was a picture of him crawling into a tent wearing a pair of cords. I hate to admit this, but he did look like he had a fat ass!

>And not

>apparently not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

Yes I believe that to be true.

>Anderson Cooper? People really shouldn't be that handsome and

>intelligent, but he is.

And that rich! With mommies millions he can either tell CNN to go fuck themselves or buy them - which ever tickles his fancy at the moment.

>Aaron Brown? I did enjoy his program. He did have a sense of

>calm and seemed to be able to take on both sides of a story

>when doing interviews.

He also had a nice quiet sense of humor. Some people thought he was a snooze, but personally I find that wears far better than all the razzle dazzle news programs throw at us these days. News was never meant to be intertainment IMHO.

I've been watching Anderson Coopers' 360 at 10:00 PM, which replaced Aaron Brown's Newsnight. I find it annoying flashy and too much a clone of all the other news programs. I was bored and started channel surfing. I always looked forward to watching Newsnight. I really miss it. We lost something special. (My comments on Aaron are in another post above.) Anderson Coopers's 360 is not special. I hope CNN gets to eat crow for their misguided changes.

If the ratings for Aaron Brown were low, it's because the majority of people in this country have a low tolerance for intelligent, thoughtful programming. If we look back through the last ten years, there were programs on various networks that didn't make it beyond one or two years, not because they weren't good quality, but because they were just too deep for people who want mindless visuals.

Posted

Oh, I see how it is.

The country is a bunch of DUMB ASSES if they don't subscribe to Arron Brown being as "intelligent" (aka- liberal) as you do.

Nice!

It's no more "misguided" to fire Arron "Snewsfest" Brown with LOW RATINGS as it is for the Coke Cola Company to discontinue Vanilla Coke because NO ONE IS BUYING IT!

If you want "snewsfest" programming than I suggest you flip the channel to NPR or PBS. Hopefully your pal Arron Brown might land a gig there, where he most certainly belongs!

Do you think you could at least try to spell Aaron correctly if you're going to attack him?

Who cares if it is spelled correctly or not. Obviously everyone knew who we were talking about.

My spelling is the main reason I never applied for a job as a secretary. That plus the fact that I wasn't so hot in the tits and ass category.

I couldn't care less about Nielsen, that's the execs' problem. And if all they do is watch every little rating turn, they'll never come up with the real big talent or an innovative show.

Of recent years TV news has generally deteriorated at an alarming rate. I've generally turned to CNN because Fox, though it has some clever programming, is merely the voice of the Bush administration, and the network news programs air too early for me to see them. But the new execs at CNN have been gutting its quality too, so there's not much left to watch. Anderson Cooper has real screen appeal, but since Katrina he's taken the Lou Dobbs path of becoming an anchor with a cause -- much like the Fox guys, but on the other end of the political spectrum. Even though I tend to the left myself, I'd be happier with a news cast that at least attempted more balance.

The situation seems hopeless. We're either presented with numbing trivia, or relentless political arguing that entails very little analysis of any profundity at all. No wonder America is contentiously split between warring parties that only scream and don't listen.

I have the same reaction to Anderson Cooper as you do and think his program will not do well as it offers very little in original content. He is the flavour de jour though so we will probably have to endure him in that time slot for awhile. It won't bother me though as I tend to get my television daily news summary (as opposed to reading the news in the morning papers) at the early evening slot with PBS and BBC. I like the Jim Leherer format with its in-depth analysis of a few issues from each news broadcast and the BBC's for its more global viewpoint and less news soley of interest to US audiences.

I don't know what kind of journalism background Cooper has but my impression is he doesn't have much. When Peter Jennings died, his obits recalled that he became a news anchor at a very early age and didn't do well at it. He quit and went back to journalism for quite a few years before getting back to the anchor's job. It paid off handsomely for him.

Exactly! But the EXECS and the rest of the broadcast industry do care! HELLO!!! That's why the EXECS fired Aaron Brown!!!!!

And if all they do is watch every little rating turn,

A real big "talent" like Aaron Brown? ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Really? I thought the only government aided broadcast operations were the liberal NPR and PBS? HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA

But the new execs at CNN have been

>gutting its quality too, so there's not much left to watch.

There never has been much quality on CNN.

>>Even though I tend to the left myself,>>

No way? You're kidding me? You "tend to the left?" HAHAHAHAHHA

I'd be

"More balance" = liberal (aka- "intelligent") slant

ZIP. Never Fear. The Hunky "Weather Guy" Rob Marchiano seems to be working his way UP the food chain. He now has a Weekend News desk Job.

They have to come up with some "Eye Guy Candy". The Place is over run with Females Now..I forsee good things for the Viewers in the Future. He dam sure has a Sexy Voice for the News.

I know how shallow, BUT the News being what it is Lately, I would rather get it from a Hot Guy..

The Guy also fills out a Suit very well! LOL :+

HAHA. BigGuy , I'm flattered that you feel the need to spread lies about me and take things out of context. Do you honestly think that the more you spread lies, the more it will become true?

But thank you BigGuy for apologizing to me earlier about being wrong on Bill O'Reilly. I think I should cut and paste your apology and link it to all of your post in the future to remind people how feable minded you are! HAHAHAHHA

As you can't possibly be as dim as you are coming off in this post I would hope you can see in my post(and repost) above the reason of the withdrawel of the apology which was too hastily granted and after further reflection withdrawn.

I was premature in granting an apology to your fact finding skills.Upon examination of the evidenc provided I felt that you had not provided any evidence to back up your initial accusation. Thus I withdrew the apology with the offer of reinstatement once viable evidence was presented.

This be the way was no "concession"by any use if the term.

Still awaiting either the evidence or the apology,,,,waiting,,,waiting,,,waiting,,,,

Marciano does fine with the weather but I find that he's abit stilted when it comes to the news. The weather he speaks easukt abd extemporaneously but when he reads the TelePrompter he seems to get tonguetied.

He is eye-candy though, and the footage of he and Anderson Cooper all slicked up from a hurricane? Hmmm.... :-)

OK already - but I'm willing to give him time to learn. Mother always said "practice makes perfect"

I have a bet on with my partner that the two of them have done the dirty with each other while on those hurricane assignments. Just don't know how to prove it.....

Rob is definitely a Cutie. Sort of a Tall 6'1" Bill Hemmer!

He does come across a little "Christian Broadcast News" or like some of the Hotties on the "Weather Channel"..The curse of looking Great in a "Suit Situation"...STIFFNESS....

BUT I am all for giving him time, to get more comfortable with other than Temperature Reports. Although he does Raise mine, a little! LOL :+
