There are hardly any gay bookstores left. Almost all went out of business between

2000 - 2012. They were squashed by Amazon.

Book Soup has been around forever, and indeed it is one of the very last brick and mortar bookstores. But I've never perceived it as a 'gay' bookstore.

Unabridged Bookstore in Chicago. They do, however, sell other types of books, as well.

Not a gay book store per say but Twice Told Tales in Seattle is great! You can get a used book thats been loved and cuddle with kitties all in one stop! I used to dive 40 miles just to cuddle with the kitties and get a book before moving to Seattle. http://www.twicesoldtales.com

Common Language, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It changed hands around 2000 and moved, next door the bar that the new owners run, still going strong as far as I know.

Giovanni's Room in Philadelphia is still there, but it is no longer a real gay bookstore. Now is is a used bookstore with a gay section.
