Can you do six degrees of Kevin Bacon? I think I can. Back in the 90s I had a female friend who liked to dance. Her partner was the father of a tv actress. I can't remember her name. My friend got an autograph picture of her for me. Unsure where it is. So I'm sure with this connection I'm within six degrees of Kevin Bacon.

My wife had a college classmate who worked on a Resident Evil movie with Milla Jojovich who was in Zoolander with John Vargas who was in Only When I Laugh with Kevin Bacon.

 

That makes me 5 degrees of Bacon.

 

I also have a coworker whose brother directed a movie starring an actor who was in Animal House with Kevin Bacon. Woo-hoo—3 degrees’

She left Fox to work for Howard Stern, then he axed her due to budget cuts and she went into real estate. I just looked her up and she was born in 1935. I had been under the impression she was younger than that when I met her, I'm guessing she shaved some years off her age for work purposes and eventually the internet caught up with her.

But she would have been 70 in that segment we did, which was with my rugby team, and she actually took a few runs into ruck pads!

Kevin's dad, Edmund Bacon was a well-know city planner and long-time director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission. Even if he only helped create Society Hill, near the historic district, Bacon would be remember; he did much more as well.

I'm not sure the most direct rout there. My aunt had a recurring role on 'Silver Spoons' with Ricky Schroeder. Schroeder was on 'NYPD Blue' with Debra Monk. She was in 'In and Out' with Kevin Kline, who was in 'Chaplin' with Diane Lane. Lane starred with Bacon in 'My Dog Skip.'

This was an interesting question. I’m glad you brought it up. I was initially starting with the fact that the sister of a friendly acquaintance I had in the early 1990s was a model/actress with a speaking part in the movie Teen Witch. I was sure with Megan having been in a movie-and me actually having met her when she came to Houston once for a photo shoot that this would be my way into the heart of Kevin Bacon.

 

But then I remembered that I had some other ins. Going by the website Oracle of Kevin Bacon https://oracleofbacon.org/

 

I have three different pathways where I am 4 steps from Kevin’s heart.

 

I’ll relate one of them here-

 

Before he was a big time producer macher who may never have said anything nice about his heritage, Aaron Spelling grew up in the same South Dallas Jewish neighborhoods as my parents. He was older, but I think my aunt actually had one date with him. We used to kid her that if she had played her cards right, we (my siblings and I) could have had Aaron as an Uncle.

 

Aaron in his early days before he became a producer tried his hand at acting. He was in a movie in 1955 called Target Zero with an actor named Abel Fernandez. In 1986 Abel was in the movie Quicksilver with Mr. Bacon.

 

 

So we have —

If I go by just general connections, I performed with Alec Baldwin at a charity event and he was on Will & Grace. If you want to be actual on screen, it's Alec is brothers with Billy Baldwin who was in Flatliners with Bacon.
