I’ve been to Uruguay many times. Last time was probably two years ago. Between 2000-2010 it was one of my favorite places to go.

I recall that Montevideo was very different 10 years ago. I exchanged looks with a handsome young man (22/23 maybe) packing my groceries at the supermarket, so I asked him to carry them for me while I got a taxi. I simply told him where I was staying and asked if he'd like to visit me; we spent a very pleasant time together that evening.
