I've already had two folks flake out today after they realized they were hiring a provider and not looking at a hookup site... Overall I'm not pleased and the additional barriers & childish behavior from folks contacting me is probably going to influence my decision to cut back my escorting activities in general to existing clientele only. I'll be throwing my website back up again and see what happens activity wise.

I'd better become a client soon!

And I still see the word "escort" used all over the site anyway. Is that eventually going to be changed? Right now they seem to want to have it both ways.

I think it's gradual as the cache gets updated. Yesterday I saw "pornstar" in a few places, but today it seemed to be everywhere in the footer menu, at least on mobile.

I'm someone who doesn't advertise. I had been mulling over the idea of posting an ad on RM.... and then the change came. I don't think I'm going to be advertising; at least not on that site. There is something about being branded a "porn star" that is unsettling to me since I am not one and have no interest in aligning myself with that particular industry. I don't see how the change serves the companion nor the client. I agree with @Kurtis Wolfe; one has to ponder whether its really worth the trouble of advertising on that site if they don't really need to.

Hi,

Considering that you do not advertise, how do you, or how do prospective clients, connect with each other?

Now that the question of rates has to be discussed with the escort, at which part should it be addressed? Should it be the first question? Or should it be the last?

There's no hard-and-fast rule, but here's what I do:

  • First EMail: Introduce myself, state what I like to do, ask escort how that sounds to him
  • Subsequent EMails: After a little back-and-forth, I always confirm the rate by saying something like "Can you confirm what your one-, two-, and three-or-more-hour rates are?"

Works like a charm.

It's not affecting me one bit, anyone that wants to contact me off of rentmen pm or call or text, I love filling my day up with appointments, when it comes to the rates I, never ever had my rates up there. I've always figured that if I never put a rate I wouldn't limit just anyone. Meaning I will get a higher volume of calls and we can discuss the rate sometimes you come out better that way. Sometimes you can accustom your session to what they want, I found the clientele I have have always been very loyal. I don't do drugs I don't drink I don't smoke I have no habits. But I will say just like anyone I've had some crazy clients call, but even sometimes that's even fun. So if anyone wants to call me I want to ask my right please feel free to do.

Perhaps providers will just start telling us rates as part of the initial exchange of messages.

A few months ago, before RM stopped showing rates, I emailed a provider with an "ask me" rate. Did my usual intro, to sense if we would be a good match, and as we communicated more, I think it was by his 2nd response, he told me his rate without my having to ask. That's the 3rd time a provider has told me their rate without my having to ask. I think it's a seamless way to handle the awkward part now required in our communication.

I've been reading all of the stories of you guys and really think you all are very dramatic with this new change.

I work in communications and part of my duty is to answer a ton of emails daily so here is my recommendation for all of you to handle this situation.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure you create a note you can save on your phone with an explicit description of your services, rates and availability, write down everything you need the client to know so you don't get asked for more questions.

Now you have created your description note just saved it and copy and paste everytime someone text you.

SIMPLE, EASY, NOT COMPLICATED

!Advicea from a client!

That sounds perfect to me. As a provider, I can't tell you the number of text messages I get from people I've never spoken with before that say "Hi" or "Sup" or "avail?" or the like. What a difference a name and some basic details makes - something as simple as "Hi, I'm Eric. Are you available tomorrow night at 7 for an outcall? I enjoy heavy S/M and exchanging margarine recipes" gives the provider something to work with.

To answer @Trick , I think the best time to ask about rates is after you've introduced yourself and confirmed the escort is available and able to meet your needs.

Just gonna go one step further and have all my responses automated. First time you send me a text message you get 10 automated messages back. Problem Solved.

Because providing authentic non-generic messages was so last year

Absolutely!

That exactly what every one is looking for in this individual and personal service industry... automated generic spam interactions. o_O

Correct, you guys can be responding that many times to different people, creating your automatic text messages saying everything they need to know it's enough to get rid of questions you know they may ask.

LOL Please include an "Opt in" feature. "Respond with an 'M' for a menu of my services. Respond with an 'R' for my rate sheet." etc. That way we never actually have to talk. ;)

I have noticed since the platform changed that the amount of visits to my ad have gone down DRAMATICALLY - I'm talking like by 80%. I have tried changing my photo and am pretty consistently updating my availability to little change. Anyone else having this experience?

SAME HERE. I wasn't sure if it was me, my new set of pics or something else, like Rentmen killing the SEO value of their site with a lot of these changes. glad to know it's not just me.

I of course would call that copyright infringement.

I'd say that the prudent thing for any professional to do would be to have a basic web page available and register a domain, even if they don't want to start paying hosting charges. If it were me I'd also make a copy of all the written reviews elsewhere.

I discovered 2 days ago that the rates are now being shown on RentMen, but only if you use RentMen apps for Windows and Android. I'm not sure if the iPhone app shows the rates since I don't own an iPhone. The rates, at least in the US, do not show if you are using a browser to get to RentMen.
