Does anybody find that there is a shame associated with hiring escorts in the gay world? When 1 thinks of a "client" they generally have the stereotype of an old fat married closeted man who really has no other options for gay sex. I would love to hear from clients who are younger and could get it for free but choose to hire escorts for the thrill, control and other reasons. In the straight world its a badge of honer to hire a hooker. in the gay world nobody talks about this.

If you are a good looking guy under 40 who hires escorts regularly would be great to hear your experiences.

There's a shame even among older men. I often suggest hiring to older guys who complain about not being able to get laid. I suggest hiring and they archly inform me that they "never pay." I always think, "you're loss."

There's somebody I've known for 40+ years, an old love, that I don't see for years at a time, and then he turns up. He's now in his 70s, he was about 30 when we first met. The last time we talked, he mentioned matter-of-factly that he doesn't get laid much unless he pays. So I asked, "you hire? So do I!" And then we started comparing notes. He only hires amateurs, e.g. students who need the money. I said I hired mostly pros. I told him what a great experience you can have with a pro, so he wants to try it now.

You are funny.

Lets say if you are 50/60, smell like shit, have trouble finding your dick bellow your belly, have pus-sore purulent blisters decorating your dripping nose, loudly and wetly fart every five steps, spit weird colored and spunky smelling saliva when speak, you will probably have to pay for sex or not have any. I agree with you.

@Moondance @Adam: I think this post is being taken out of context.

I personally work in Sales which is a pretty straight male dominated profession. Also, I happen to live in Berlin, Germany where prostitution is legal and is a lot cheaper than the states. Tons of guys I work with are always talking about the hookers they sleep with and happy ending massages. This of course is my experience and understand if its not everybody's.

I think being in Germany, where it is legal, makes a big difference.

It feels like some guys on here are stretching the truth about an encounter to prove a point they want to make. Of course I have no proof that's true - some of these posts sure feel hinky though. I don't know maybe there is a parallel universe out there where a hot 22 year old is just craving a little older sagging flesh with no money or other consideration changing hands.

Are these guys reality based in terms of what they're after or are they complaining about not finding enough guys which also are out of their leagues. Too many would rather be lonely and horny then be with someone say older or just average..

You must be going through a very bad hooking up season. I am sorry for that.

I am 54, bald, and overweighted. Indeed I do not have the success I used to ten years ago when I was younger and 40 pounds lighter (I have always been bald), but I still hook up with young guys in their early 20s on line and in the bars. Of course I am talking about hook ups for free not trade involved at all. I wish I was able to keep my success but it is only myself to blame. I stopped taking care of myself. That is changing right now.

No, i never have a bad season, but you must be hooking up with much younger versions of yourself, not beautiful in shape men. Never start a sentence with a passive aggressive remark it is annoying and you are way to smart for that.

I apologize for being bitchy, but my point stands.

Good summary of the industry - thanks for that. (And good service provided for the money spent - take a bow escorts)

I am a longtime client, age 57 now. Under-30 guys who hire are just people I randomly meet in the course of casual social interaction out at clubs and bars (gay and straight alike, the distinction is blurring these days, not a bad thing I think) and the like.

As mentioned above, I observe vastly more openness about sex of all kinds, both purchased and not, and absence of guilt and shame among under-30 people especially today than was long the case. Societal change here seems to be real, and deep. And deeply positive.

Boy I hope you're right!

I hired for the first time when I was 35, from an agency, because it was the most efficient way to get my rocks off. I was very sexually experienced, but I was in a situation in which I just didn't want to put any time and energy into picking someone up. It turned out to be so convenient that I continued to hire occasionally for several years, as a variation of my normal pattern; then as my sexual motivation fell off, it was almost the only thing I did when I was in the mood for sex. Of course, I was 35 a very long time ago, when no one talked about hiring escorts (they usually advertised as models, and other gays called them hustlers or rentboys), because the whole process was much less professionalized than it is now. I think there is much less social stigma about exchanging money for sex now than there used to be.

Much less stigma but still a great deal unfortunately.

No, you are wrong. You asked me a question in a PM that I never would have asked.

P.S. PMs are like BMs:

Ladies of breeding never bring them up in public.

:p
