He had burgulrized my car, wasn't smart enough to find my phone in my hidden zipper in my book bag. I've also learned the guest house isn't his and nobody knows who he is. I've filed assault and battery police charges but I don't see this going anywhere.

Agreed much worst could have come of this. Who knows what he was really thinking. I JUST got my car up and running too, so I was excited to take a long drive.

The police seemed confused the whole time. I said we met on a gay app similar to Tinder. They were so confused why I drove from Ohio. I think they thought I was sexually assulted, kept 'beating around the bush' with their questions. The home owner was shook up that somebody knew her land and her horses' names. I shared all information I had, screen shot and deleted 'incriminating' text messages of myself. I left my real phone number, but a very ficiticious address. I kept my cool. I've quit cigarettes so and it's been a couple months, so I'm chomping away on some gum, just making my headache worst. Debating a hotel or not for the night, the rain is pretty bad.

I'm glad you're OK. But word of advice: head injuries are nothing to dismiss.

 

Go back and get another checkup with a doctor you trust in a few days and ensure that there are no issues with your head or brain. No chance of any complications or concussions.

Honestly, they made their coin and that's what they care about most. I didn't supply a screen name so their lazy asses didn't wanna do anything beyond offer condolences to both him and I. Meh, lesson learned next time I'll secure my deposit! I have such a great reputation on rentmen too, it's a shame-- really.

Brian, I've actually have met you and you're a super nice guy, I'm really sorry that this happened to you but as a lawyer I'm surprised at the information you are being given. Regardless of our personal feelings and belief you don't want to put yourself in a situation where you make things even worse. Certain acts are illegal in Pennsylvania and although that doesn't give another person the right to assault you it also means that (1) it may not be legal to try to get paid since most states won't enforce a contract that is void as against public policy; (2) anything that you had on your phone can be requested by the police from the carrier even if you have deleted it, and this information does not enjoy 5th amendment protection so who knows who the police will decide to charge and (3) remember that an assault/battery is a criminal charge which requires more than a reasonable doubt for conviction. Unless there are witnesses or unless the person confesses getting a conviction in a case like this is not easy. I hate not being able to tell you to go after this guy but the risks in doing so are something you have to consider.

A police detective needs to be pressed to bring this person to justice. It often takes persistence and lots of pressing, but having watched many episodes of FORENSIC FILES (excuse the annoying caps lol), I wouldn't take this lightly nor ignore or shrug it off.

 

Press charges and let the state of Penn Prosecute that mother fucker str8 to the Pen lol. Even if it doesn't get to that point, don't think this is something even remotely innocuous or part of the business. That is way, way, WAAAAAAYYYYYY serious.
