Ya know, I don't think I agree with you, BoN. (Enormous shock, no???)

I think deej is--generally--an OK moderator. No one will be pleased with ALL of the actions of ANY moderator. At least deej is fairly consistent & predictable. You know those about whom nothing that isn't droolingly sycophantic will be permitted; you know those about whom you can say ANYTHING. (Guess which group I'm in!) deej may be somewhat quick to lock threads, but he doesn't usually just delete posts only because he doesn't like what you're saying or because *HE* doesn't find the information conveyed to be helpful. Further, deej at least tacitly acknowledges that he's not perfect. Trilingual, on the other hand, is STILL shrieking with his hands on his hips that his behavior was divine. And, well, deej is many things, but at least he doesn't remind of the love child of Stuart Smalley & Truman Capote.

I've never posted in the SOTUSA forum, yet you deleted some of my posts. You're not particularly intellectually honest. You'll do anything to justify your behavior. How about, instead, growing a pair & admitting you exercised some less than perfect judgment? It is almost amusing that you seem to fancy yourself the Bob Byrd of the message center.

I need to clarify something here. It's one thing to define trolling and quite another to decide when to intervene because of trolling. Intervention is reserved for when the potential result of trolling is destructive or very disruptive to the functioning of the MC. The best way to deal with trolls is very well defined by Daddy in Daddy's Place. Don't feed them. They are best controlled by the users, not the moderators.

Trolling is against the MC Rules as are "inappropriate" posts. These are broad categories not uncommon in TOS. On the net, trolling has many definitions, categories and sub-categories. Again, the best control is from within the community. The need for moderator action should be rare.

And yet it's a perfectly convenient excuse for your actions.

Unbelievable.

TRILINGUAL writes in his forum today...."BTW, I learned this evening that my recently-gained moderator privileges in the other forums have been terminated by deej (unilaterally as far as I know) because he doesn't see eye-to-eye with me about the role of a moderator."

Is it possible to understand from Deej why this has occured? While I have disagreeded with some of Tri's POV's, his commentary was always respectful, thoughtful and well communicated; IMO. It's sad to see someone who has effective and thoughtful communication skills here, to be banished from moderating in all the other forums; IMO.

Maybe it IS time for this MC to go on a vacation... When Deej starts repremanding another moderator (I dont care who it is) in public, as above, it indicates a complete breakdown of process and the capability of resolving matters and differences in an appropriate setting. Deej, it reflects poorly on you to take another moderator to task in public. Yet, i'm not surprised.

You know, that is a pretty accurate assessment, Ethan. I am mainly keeping on deej just to irritate him. It doesn't change the fact that he has shown incredibly poor judgement lately, but I guess you are right in that he is at least consistent in his poor judgement.

Hey... at least deej is honest about it.

Why shouldn't he express his opinion? Why should some other moderator disingenuously try to justify his actions based on something that he then says is overbroad?

You lose princess points for extending your dislike of deej into this.

If it is no longer fun for you, why are you still here?

It would seem that someone who sticks around & makes comments about something not living up to his expectations is taking it fairly seriously.
