Cnn ran a special tonight on pedophilia. There are so many cases in the news recently of children abducted for sexual reasons. Plus, teachers having sex with their students that the news special really captured my attention.

 

It had me wondering what is the casue of this condition. Is it a learned behavior or are people born with it?

 

Also, if someone does have a sexual experience with a minor what age is considered pedophilia as opposed fro someone simply too young for the man/woman? An example is if a man/woman has sex with a 10 year old that is obviously pedophilia but where is the line 13, 14, 16, 17, 20? I understand the legal/moral issues I'm more interested in the proper definitions.

Pedophilia, as I understand it, is generally sexual relations/molestation by an adult 18 or over over with a "pre-pubescent" child.

 

Pederasty, as I understand it, is generally sexual relations by an adult 18 or over with a minor who is "post-pubuscent", yet under the age of consent(under 18). ( http://www.cybertipline.org )

 

Pederasts molest children in the general age range of 12-17, while pedophiles molest children usually 11 and under.

 

As a rule of thumb, anyone 18 or older (adult) should never have sexual relations with anyone 17 and under. When in doubt, always verify multiple forms of identity to insure the person is truly 18 or over.

 

As far as teenagers in high school, I believe the age of consent also varies by state; however, generally a minor in high school under the age of consent (15 and under) can have sex with someone in their school within 2 years of their age as long as it is not an authority figure like a teacher, coach, mentor, etc.

 

An 18 year-old can have sex with a 100 year-old and it's 100% legal. Larry King, Billy Joel, etc are good examples of much older men marrying much younger women.

 

The slippery slope is dealing with the 16-17 year-old range.

 

Anything 15 years-old and under in the United States is striclty illegal for adults; however, SOME prosecutors are reluctant to pursue cases involving 15 year olds.

 

SOME prosecutors tend to focus on cases only involving 14 year-olds and under (according to a lawyer at the Triangle foundation who is now a Judge).

 

Again, I could be 100% wrong. I'm not a lawyer or expert on the subject, but this is how I understand the issue.

 

The Triangle Foundation in Michigan, the largest GLBT organization, responded to the issue back in the Fall of 2003 like this:

From a clinical (not legal) standpoint there's a difference between those attacted to pre-pubescent and post-pubescent kids. Pedophilia applies to the first. I think the term for those attracted to post-pubescent adolescents is ephebophilia.

 

How the sexual "type" each person is attracted do is established is still a mystery. We all have different "types" we find attractive or uninteresting. But given the current legal hysteria anyone who risks sex with someone under 18 is inviting adult-size trouble!!! Personally I think 16 is an appropriate age of consent, but that's not the opinion of the law in many places. . .

A lawyer for Nicki Minaj’s brother hit a snag Tuesday while trying to trip up testimony of the 13-year-old stepdaughter he’s accused of repeatedly raping.

 

The young girl kept her composure on the stand in Jelani Maraj’s ongoing trial as she was grilled by defense lawyer David Schwartz – a day after testifying in disturbing detail how Maraj allegedly raped her in their Long Island home when she was 11.

 

“This is a complete lie, isn’t it?” Schwartz asked on cross examination.

 

“No, it’s not,” the victim calmly responded.

 

“Who in the world would act the way you did?” Schwartz pressed, before Nassau County Supreme Court Judge Robert McDonald sustained an objection to the question.

 

On Monday, the victim told jurors that Maraj, 38, began raping her in April 2015 – and threatened to have her taken away from her mother, Jacqueline Robinson, if she didn’t go along with his sick acts.

 

The defense has claimed Robinson, who was married to Maraj at the time of the alleged abuse, told her children to lie in a $25 million extortion attempt from Minaj.

 

“This is all part of your mother’s abuse of you?” Schwartz probed, referring to the rape allegations.

 

The girl responded, “No.”

 

McDonald also cut off Schwartz for squeezing in the question, “Through a lot of your testimony, you were staring at Jelani … because it’s all about revenge at this point?”

 

On redirect, prosecutor Emma Slane asked the girl again why she didn’t report the abuse to her mother.

 

“Because she seemed happy … She went through a lot … I wanted my mother to be happy,” the pre-teen testified. “I was scared because then I would be taken away from my mother.”

 

Maraj also allegedly threatened the girl’s 10-year-old brother — who testified last week about walking in on them having sex — that he’d be taken away from his mom if told anyone about what he saw.

Calling her his “puppet,” the brother of Queens rap star Nicki Minaj repeatedly raped his stepdaughter for months, according to emotional testimony offered by the now 14-year-old girl Monday.

 

The dark and disturbing tale revealed in Nassau County Court featured the victim — who was only 11 years old at the time of the alleged attacks — describing stepfather Jelani Maraj’s sexual assaults in graphic detail.

 

“He would call me his puppet and told me I had no say in what he did to me,” the girl testified, saying Maraj, 38, sexually attacked her multiple times.

 

The girl said the assaults began when the relationship between Maraj and her mother, Jacqueline Robinson, started to sour in April 2015.

 

“They were arguing more often at that time,” she said.

 

The first alleged assault occurred that month in Maraj’s bedroom, the girl said.

 

Maraj told her to get into bed next to him, she testified.

 

“He told me to take off my pants,” the victim said. “He told me to come under the covers with him, and he started to caress my back.”

 

The 14-year-old — who began to shake as she told her story — had to ask to take a break before she could continue.

 

“He took off his boxers… after that, we had sex," she said, noting that it was both oral and vaginal intercourse.

 

Maraj told her it had happened because she was “brushing” herself against him, she said.

 

“He had mentioned that ... I wanted it to happen… He told me I couldn’t tell anyone, that I couldn’t tell my mother,” she said.

 

“I thought that he would send me away from my mother.”

 

A month later, the rape was still going on, she said.

 

“I was still having sex with him…We would have sex in his bedroom, my bedroom, in the basement,” the teen said.

 

By June, Maraj was keeping her home from orchestra and soccer practice, she said. He began to rape her anally, and hit her if she cried, she told the courtroom. Her mom was often at work and absent from the house, she said.

 

“He would slap me…on my face,” she said.

 

In August 2015, the victim said, her brother found her stepdad sexually assaulting her.

 

“I was on my forearms on the bed and my pants were pulled down,” she said.

 

She asked her brother, who was 8 at the time, not to tell their mother, the victim testified.

 

That same month Maraj and Robinson got married in a $30,000 ceremony.

 

Minaj picked up the tab.

 

The teen said the couple’s relationship was already tense by the time of the wedding and that both were drinking a lot.

 

But the rapes continued even after her parents tied the knot, the girl said.

 

The alleged pervert, who is the older brother of the hip-hop star, faces 15 years to life if found guilty of the top charge against him.

 

Minaj could take the stand in the trial.

 

Maraj’s defense team has argued that his wife invented the rapes as a way to extort $25 million from his famous sister.

A sicko Queens bodybuilder preyed on three women to get them to prey on children, according to authorities.

 

Keith Liwanag, 26, was arrested Thursday by the feds after he allegedly directed women in the Philippines to perform sex acts on kids as young as 6.

 

One time, Liwanag allegedly approached a young mother, claiming he was a researcher working on “an experiment” about maternal affection.

 

The LeFrak City (which I view out my living room window) resident told the women he’d pay for his pervy requests and the women agreed, Brooklyn federal prosecutors said. The three women allegedly sent over kiddie porn through Facebook’s private messaging service.

 

Prosecutors say they’ve got 10 recorded video conferences between Liwanag and women streaming the sex abuse. Court papers say Liwanag wired more than $1,000 to the Philippines between March 2015 and October 2017.

Liwanag’s into body building, according to his Twitter account, where he preens and pumps iron.

 

He’s charged with conspiracy to produce child pornography and will be arraigned in Brooklyn federal court. If convicted, Liwanag would face at least a 15-year sentence and up to 30 years.

 

Acting Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Bridget Rohde said Liwanag “victimized vulnerable children abroad by soliciting photographs and videos of their sexual abuse in exchange for money.”

 

Liwanag was remanded at his arraignment.

A Queens man was accused of molesting two kids at a children’s birthday party — and then wound up dead on the pavement hours later.

 

Edgar Collaguazo, 44, plunged to his death from a fourth-floor apartment inside a building on 95th Street in Jackson Heights early Thursday, police said.

 

He sublets a room in his unit to the 5-year-old birthday boy’s family, and had offered to let the child and a young girl watch a movie in his room while the adults partied, police and the family said.

 

But when one child’s mom went to check on them around midnight, she found Collaguazo with his hand down the boy’s pants. The girl later claimed the man had kissed her on the mouth.

 

Some of the adults began hitting Collaguazo. Then they locked the accused perv in his room and called the cops.

 

Collaguazo tried to flee out a window — and landed directly on a metal fence, before bouncing onto the ground, grisly security footage from the street level shows.

 

Police arrived moments later. EMS rushed him to the hospital in critical condition, and he later died, officials said.

 

The boy’s furious mom said Collaguazo and her son were very close, but she wasn’t aware of him touching the child in the past.

 

“I never imagined he was able to do something like that,” she told The Post.
