I believe that the approved practice on this site is stage name only for both escorts and clients. You may, of course, ask an escort privately what his real name is but if someone were to ask me the real name of an escort I knew I would definitely decline to provide the name. Anonymity is of major importance on this site for BOTH clients and escorts. Believe me when I say my real name is NOT Epigonos.

If someone is using a stage name, that is their professional name and that's what you should stick to. Sometimes guys use crazy names in their ads that create a small gray space.

One of my current favorites' ad name is "Latin_guy." His first name (also stage) is Marco. He mentions it right in his ad so it should not be a problem. I would be very comfortable saying, " I highly recommend Marco blah blah blah."

Now, I also know his real names. (He's Latino so there's a bunch of them.:)) I would never share that. It's something private that he trusted me with.

Hear Hear. I wouldn't want my real name known to an escort (at least no yet), nor would I ever reveal the real name of an escort. Surprisingly, I've learned the real names of a couple of guys, or what appears to be their real name when they reply to my email. One told me.

Although I'm very touchy about my real name appearing on this site, or any site for that matter, I have NEVER had any qualms about giving an escort, I hire, my real name right up front. Have done this for years and have never had a problem doing so.

This is, indeed, the policy.

There is ONE condition where we will accept publication of the real name of an escort/bodybuilder/actor/model/whatever: when he posts it himself. If HE chooses to disclose (from a verified user ID), well, there you go. It is not for us to make that choice.

I met an escort and he told me his real name. So when I text him, I always call him the real name. But he always calls himself the stage name. It sometimes confuses me.

I and my go-to fellow always call each other by our real, given names. We've communicated by text since soon before of the first of 7 or so meetings. Nice and easy.

Not nearly as much as it confuses him when you call asking for Myron instead of Rocco. His mortgage broker and parole officer use his given name, clients are meant use his stage name.

"Kevin Slater"

Yeah, lots of people adopted that surname right after Fawlty Towers premiered.

@larryng, the Terms of Use (i.e. "The Rules") can be found here and by clicking on the "Help Links" at the top of the page.

PS: Like @latbear4blk I use my real name, including my middle and confirmation names, which is "rvwnsd Loves Hung Muscle." Sister Mary Margaret required proof that St Hung of Priapus existed. After showing her my research paper she not only allowed me to use his name but she allowed me to continue my research as long as I provided my source material. Thank goodness for Honcho and Jock magazines!

Rob and I both use our real first names on the board but we do it by choice. We would never divulge an escort or fellow client's real name. Besides being inconsiderate, it would be tacky.

And I too go by my real name on the Board -- My parents wanted to pass on a Title to the newborn male child but did not want him to grow up with an over-inflated ego. So rather than Prince/Doctor/Major/Colonel/Ambassador/His Serene Imperial Majestic Highness (2nd Choice) etc -- They annointed me - Bear of Distinction!

He uses his nom d'escort; you should use it too.

His stage name is actually his profile name, which is not a normal name, like this way: SexyGuyJock. It is not easy to call in person. So I asked him what should I call him when we met for the first time, he told me his real name.

Now, we communicate like this way:

When I text him: Hi, XXX (his real name), this is David, are you available tomorrow?

But when he texts me: Hi, David, this is SGJ(abbreviation of his stage name), I'd like to confirm our appointment for 15:00.

I would call him David also and not sweat how he refers to himself in his texts. I would feel silly referring to him by an ad name like that.

The escort I know best honestly doesn't care what I call him. I use his real name most of the time, but every once in a while the stage name comes out. His stage persona is so much a part of him that they are pretty much the same thing -- for a client at least.
