Well I was not really impressed this year, but at the risk of this thread being moved to the Arts Forum this opera lover votes for the Alfa Romeo commercial that appeared very late in the proceedings. It featured one of my favorite Italian words... Mozzafiato.... meaning that it takes your breath away.... my favorite opera aria... "Casta Diva" from Bellini's Norma.... and my all time favorite singer Maria Callas to boot! What's not to like!!! It was all class as befits Alfa Romeo.

Some of the others were poignant or funny, but no grand salami in my book this year.

Just saw this one on the tail end of another Super Bowl commercial. I didn't watch the game, so I'm not sure which version played, but it's powerful considering the current political climate.

Made me weep again. And open my wallet. I was a teacher in a border state for many years and saw first hand the pain of exclusion. What wouldnt any parent do to give their child a chance at a better life? Bravo, 84 Lumber!

I heard something about a Superbowl advertiser having their ad rejected.......?? Any one else? If this one played, I missed it. ?????

I read a headline in the Washington Post about Fox asking for an ad to be edited. I didn't click on it, as I am not interested in anything Super Bowl related.

It was a political leaning ad about "the wall" and it didn't run. I'll not go into details here - no politics here *please*, google it if you're interested in more.

From what I understand the ad about the wall was indeed edited for the reason you suggested but it did run.
