A llama in Times Square (LIFE magazine, December 2, 1957)

a-llama-in-times-square-life-magazine-december-2nd-1957.jpg

The llama's name was Linda. She was in the back seat of her trainer’s car, on her way home from ABC studios. The accompanying story was about a menagerie of television animals—including, in addition to Linda, dogs, cats, birds, a pig, a kangaroo and a miniature bull—living with their trainers in a Manhattan brownstone. The photograph was taken by Inge Morath.

A holiday thread to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas," except instead of a partridge in a pear tree it's a cat (or cats) in a Christmas tree.

I'm sorry to say I have neither......but thanks for the posts here in this thread......:)

You're welcome! They are hilarious. Joe regularly sulks when his owner leaves for work. Frankie likes to be placed high up on closet shelves. Joe is freaked out by it but insists on doing it too because heaven forbid Frankie enjoy something by himself. Frankie hates noise and the neighbor Pomeranian.

Frankie also has a Christmas tree shaped marking on his nose. Maybe that's why he likes Christmas trees so much.
