No, I would not, but that is a huge difference. Yes, conservatives like to trash talk Hillary and many others, but no more than we liberals love to mock them. As much as I disagree with them, I don't believe that most conservatives have their beliefs rooted in hatred. White supremacists are a completely different matter.

It's like the difference between being 10 pounds overweight and 200 pounds overweight. I can deal with a little belly fat (not an issue for Grayson :)) but I'm not going to hire someone who could Sumo wrestle.

And it's like watching some escorts posts/replies on our forum, there are some who will never get hired by me

When considering hiring someone I always ask myself "How am I likely to feel after spending time with this person." Implicit is that are the questions of what is this person's nature and is he going to be focused on making sure WE have a good time.

It's been my experience that when talking to people who have very strong, intractable feelings on certain topics - notably politics and religion - that they CAN be narrowly focused on forcefully asserting their opinions, regardless of the topic. If I am going to hire someone for a couple of hours I want to know that he is going to focus on me and how our time is going. If and when we are sharing idle chit-chat I really don't want to have to uncomfortably tap-dance around any topics that might create any tension.

My doctor is a fine internist but he has strong political opinions and I have to consciously avoid mention of any topic that will get him going. I would find a diferent physician if he didn't have such strong clinical skills or if I needed to see him frequently.

Easy, or get reported and move to politics forum. Why don't you just start a new thread, instead of beating on a thread started about a particular escort.

To be fair, the thread was started not about this particular escort in general terms (not a 411), but about his specific beliefs and odd advertising strategy. I was discussing my dissatisfaction for those beliefs, and I acknowledged my misstep earlier.

What a thoughtful thread. So many great points and ideas to discuss, respond to, and explore. Sadly, there's always so little time. I'll add this:

My family legitimately believes in American principles and values and for us that means we support diversity of ideas, people, and more. We all agreed that our oligarchic capitalist society has multiple ways to "vote" and "support" principles and values we believe in and those we don't. We consciously research our buying decisions. We research our investment decisions. We do what we can to make sure our energy, our time, and our money goes to people and organizations that are inclusive, patriotic, and equitable, to name 3 of the values we prioritize. Is it always easy? No, of course not. Do we make mistakes, absolutely. Do we make compromises, sure. But, for us and our kids, we try in every action and deed to encourage a more just, more fair, and more equitable country and world. We believe every action we take matters.

The logical conclusion of our life philosophy is that we will never knowingly support hypocrisy, such as an escort who has sex with men for money while he also publicly mocks "libtards" and supports politicians who have publicly expressed through word and deed a desire to criminalize and marginalize LGBTQ people as lesser citizens.
