…a last name, that is. I'm trying to come up with a last name, so I'm not just known as "Andre, the FTM twink" (catchy as that may be).

A question for my fellow escorts: How do you go about choosing your name?

And for (would be) clients: what kinds of names attract you to click a profile, or at least project a person you're interested in meeting with?

Wise move, stage names are perceived as more "legit."

I vote for "Andre Epicene" most won't get it. The ones that do, will be exceptional. And you like exceptional people, right?

BTW: The pun was intentional, almost always allowed in stage names. Almost mandatory for certain careers.

Pick a name that helps convey your brand. That's more important for a first name (Bobby tells a different story than Rocco), but maybe for last names as well. Then google it. Make sure nobody else using that full name escorts (you don't want to be Andre Smith #2), has shot up a daycare, or plays pro ball (why confuse the client's research?). Then ask a couple of friends or trusted clients for their take. One buddy of mine wanted to be Aaron Brock (to be sure to be atop any alphabetical listings), but I put the kibosh on it cuz it sounded too like Erin Brockovich. (I mean, c'mon, at least chose Pretty Woman.)

Given your niche, you could have some particular fun choosing a great name. A last name that could also be a gender neutral first name, like Madison, would be fun. Andre Madison may also carry evoke the naughty sexiness of Ashley Madison. Damn I'm good.

Let us know what you chose.

I would be happy to give you my opinion for a good last name. Rico Fuerte has worked for me. I was never totally sold on it, but it has definitely stuck. Send me a private message telling me more about your business style and how I can find your profile. It looks like you are in DC too. Maybe we can meet up some time.

I'm thrilled you are considering a stage name.

As a client, I don't put too much thought on escort names when choosing (unless they have a nasty name - ugh!).

However, if I choose someone with an interesting name, I always ask why - good for chit-chat when I'm nervous.

Anyway, I re-read your profile several times, and instead of going cerebral (which I often do), I went with my heart.

To me French exudes a certain sensuality that I think aligns well with your brand.

I also think what you offer can be a fantasy for many, an indulgence. Maybe even a (wet) dream of sorts.

I walked away thinking Andre BonRêve. Bon Rêve means good dream in English.

Dreams are often revelations of what we truly desire or fear. I believe you are good dream to be had.

I also like the idea of merging both words - just as you are combining gender experiences in your value proposition.

I totally don't expect you to pick this name, but maybe you can find some value in my thought process?

 1. Why his name becomes part of my conversation with an escort
 2. Finding that I have a visceral (often negative) reaction to cerebral branding
 3. That my heart seeks fun and indulgence in escorting and that a stage name can help me "go there."
 4. That French makes me wet :p what if you infused your name with something that turns you on?
 5. And that branding aligned with your value prop could be powerful - but only if you deliver on it.

Have fun, babe. Thanks for helping me think with more than just my brain. :D

Update (for those of you who were curious):

I think I've settled on Andre Lamont. It's frenchy (or northern Irish depending on which etymology you're looking at, (and while not the same clan, I've got Irish on my dad's side)) not too far out there as to sound gimmicky, and won't raise eyebrows in polite company.

I'm a horribly indecisive person, so I'm not 100% set on it yet, but I kinda like it.

What do you think? Catchy? Yucky?

I like it. The names sound nice together and the meanings are nice. (I googled - Norse for "lawyer" - French related to geography - Urban dictionary says "an extremely sexy and hot male specimen")

Where you might face some challenges are in using it in social media. There already is an Andre Lamont who's got social handles using that name. That doesn't necessarily need to be a big deal - he appears to be not a serial killer and you've already got some social media accounts going.

Thanks! I am wondering about using a new handle. I don't have a huge following under what I have now, but it would make sense to somehow incorporate my name. Of course, being the n00b that I am, I didn't search the name beforehand: apparently a lot of mug shots pop up under a google image search. I may need to reconsider this name lest I scare off potential clients.

It sounds familiar and easy to remember. I like it.

As a side note. I do not care about the actual etymology, it sounds very French, not Irish at all.

I assumed it was French and decided to not make an ASS out of myself and checked the meaning. Would have never guessed it had Irish and Nordic roots.

@FTM_Twink missed you on the forum boo

love your new juicy bubble on your avi pic too, suddenly Im feeling hungry and want a big bite ;)

ps, i like your username as is, its short, sweet and to the point, I'm pretty bad at names, but if you want to fancy it up, keep ftm and then look up the words sexy, unique, or just any word that describes yourself and another language like spanish, french etc as your second word

Aw, thanks, I'm glad to be back! I'm thinking I may keep my username for social media purposes, but use my stage name in some other fashion? I'm obviously still thinking things through.

Well the hottest first name going is Eric or Erik. D'ambois is French for "of the woods" and calls up big, hard biceps and strong pectorals and lots of sweat. Yes! Erik D'ambois!!!! If you don't use it, perhaps I'll join the ranks of the working boys and use it myself!

April 2017 update: I'm not really feeling "Andre Lamont." I think the numerous mugshots associated with that name turned me off from it. I haven't really used it in any substantial capacity yet, which is good.

Now I'm leaning towards "Andre Future." It came to me in the shower today. It's kinda gimmicky but I like it! Plus, the future is gonna be super queer and what's more queer than a trans twink boy? ;)

I don't know... I'm a solid "P" on the Myers Briggs scale. I hate making definite decisions...What do you all think?

The M for my name is for Montero. Is was given to me when I did a porn. I was needing a Latin sounding last name that wasn't my own name. This is the first time I've used it outsode of the porn.

Hugs,

Greg

Well, in that case go with Andre Apercevoir
