FWIW I also enjoy travel a lot, sometimes singly and sometimes with my boyfriend. I had success in recent years in finding a travel-companion by adding this interest to my online profiles and by posting on CraigsList. I used to detail where I planned to travel and stated upfront that I'd pay all expenses, but I stressed that we had to be compatible and the companion had to be physically attractive. I then used to screen suitable guys by inviting them to drinks and to lunch. I always looked for guys who were easy to talk to, polite and well-mannered. I also checked online into a guy's background, and I always took the guy I liked most out for dinner and a 'test-drive' overnight.

 

You will note that I did NOT offer online a daily or weekly stipend. I generally attracted nice guys who were keen to travel and have some fun in luxurious surroundings. I asked the guy what cash he might need to take care of his rent and other bills etc while we were away. In general terms, I found that the amounts requested were less than I was prepared to pay - often a lot less - and so I'd happily take them shopping for clothes etc. Maybe I was fortunate but I never got ripped-off and I always found that nice young men were eager to please and met my needs readily.

If it was me I would do it anytime you wanted whether it be once, twice three times a day because your going over and beyond to make sure the escort enjoys himself too and seems like your a nice guy and want company.

Tardy to the party and perhaps, @rocky, you've moved on. But given the length of time that this has apparently been a point of concern for you I wanted to comment.

 

If I can make a gazillion dollars a day in NYC, I’m going to need a bit of push to make a three-hour trip to upstate NYC.

If I may, I'd like to just succinctly underscore what he says here. Last time I traveled to DC (I'm based in LA) for essentially an extended weekend stay, I had a prospective client three hours (one-way) east want me to come see him with no offer of additional compensation above and beyond my rate for a (admittedly multihour) session. Meanwhile, I've got clients scheduled to either come to my hotel or within walking distance at theirs in Dupont Circle. He didn't seem to understand how/why this did not pencil out.

 

My recommendation to any perhaps similarly-situated client wanting to make less of a chamber of commerce pitch to an escort is to proactively make a generous offer to compensate the escort for their time and travel expense to come see you in an area where there is little likelihood of a pre-existing client base (or, in his case, even a community I could quickly post up a RM travel ad for to see if I could generate some other new business to help monetize the time).

One must always understand that escorting is a business and that it is how an escort makes his living. I always divide my time with an escort between ON THE CLOCK and OFF THE CLOCK. Anytime sex is involved with an escort we are ON THE CLOCK and I pay his hourly, multi-hourly, overnight or prearranged extended time fee -- no exceptions. I have come to know a couple of escort well and we have become friends thus we, on occasion, get together for a drink, a dinner or a movie or just hang out without sex then we are OFF THE CLOCK and I do not pay a fee.

I would NEVER attempt to get together with a first time or infrequent hire OFF THE CLOCK. For this type of arrangement to work the client and the escort MUST know each other well and the perimeters must have been discussed and clearly understood by both parties'.

Absolutely! The only caveat that I would offer is that the escort has to agree to the on/off distinction. If he doesn't accept that then the sort of arrangement Epi posits would not work out. If one is hiring for an hour then the idea that associated activities were off the clock would be in sharp focus, in an overnight less so. Talk about it!

I would be cautious with this kind of statement on a public forum. "Sex on the clock" is after all illegal in the United States most everywhere. Euphemisms serve well to protect your business from law enforcement, when discussing escorting. To keep the business practice within the terms of the law, you are paying for an escort's time, not for sex.

I agree this is a unique situation where off-the-clock conversations can be expected. Some may transition to beimg on the clock but that is one of those mysteries of life!

Once again you've been very helpful. As I mentioned my usual travel companion is someone that I've seen for a number of years. I pay for everything plus a weekly stipend. Am I interested in someone who says, it's xx amount per say, nope. I provide everything and certainly understand that a busy man giving something up for a week may be a bit, but have fun. Sorry to be naive.
