No way he'd ever land me as a client asking that. I understand wanting to weed out the flakes but come on, do you want my social security number, online banking security questions and first born too? I was always under the impression this was a discreet profession.

You are right. He is no longer an escort. Or, he no longer advertises as an escort.

I am surprised. He was very successful in NY but when he moved to LA his escort career never took off.

remember that just because you are not doing well doesn't mean other guys aren't

what popular names have left due to not getting business?

The evidence is here in this thread. That doesn't even include the ones who aren't participating here.

This Year has been the Year of Flakes for me. Just the past 2 weeks alone I had 3 Cancelations. I've never had this kind of Issue In the past. Hell I even posted a thread on it saying it was so bad I was considering Retiring. Its my REGULARS that have made this all worth while for me. They remind me there are good people out there.

That's ridiculous. It's good to see another honest, especially another White honest escort discuss the industry in a matter of factly manner.

This has been a very crazy year. I think Hillary and Trump scared the bejesus out of so many people, that men either went sterile or they are holding on to their money so tight that even the gravity of a Black hole couldn't suck it out of their hands.

I think some of the cancellations could be either from evil, envious providers or their mobs, maybe even the website owners themselves (men4rent). But too...I have regulars I've been seeing for years flaking on me and it's been highly frustrating.

I can't believe people are that flaky... I always go out of my way to be on time for my boys.

I don't understand why the escort and massage sites have gotten so bad. Seems like it was a lot easier to find my boys on the sites. Seems really tough nowadays. Not sure if it's just because RentBoy got busted. Seems like it started happening well before that.

You're absolutely right. And I know exactly why. Grimdr

These hookup sites have stole the profession. Grindr has basically made it ok to solicit and be solicited for prostitution without actually having to pay for it. Matter of fact, making it seem bad to be paid for it. The terms of these sites implicitly state no such ads are to be placed. You can get around it, but most the guys there are serial time/mind fucks.

I don't want anyone to call me out or think I'm nuts, but I wish and it wouldnt surprise me if one day soon it does...for an entity (whether a website or group of individuals) to take a litigious stance with them. They've basically stolen our clients, and then ban or prevent us from getting them back by prohibiting any sort of professional advertising. They need to be sued goddamit.

And I know for a fact they have stolen our clients, because I witness how easy it is for decent looking guys who used to pay to get guys over and sleep with them for free. And nothing wrong with it, but most those guys are using them as nothing more than hookers, and it creates so much drama and devalues the gay community. I don't think Grindr intended it to be that way (though it's okay to pay them extra to view "100 extra guys".)

Maybe one day, they can break free from Apple regulations...even though they deny escort ads for those very reasons. But it doesn't seem Grindr is in any rush to change things. It's really sad how detrimental they are to the gay community. It's quickly accelerating its demise. I hear story after sob story of the gay man addicted to Grindr, being used like a cheap .50 cent ho bag. By one guy after the next. But can't land a steady relationship. Well of course not, not when these guys can get prostitute services like welfare.

Well you have no basis for a suit. The internet has changed a lot of businesses but change in itself doesn't justify a suit.

Before the internet clients relied on classified ads in gay papers, hooker bars, and escort companies. Those are obviously not now what they were.

Travel agencies, bookstores, and video stores have all diminished because of ecommerce.

As you know Airbnb and Uber are getting regulatory resistance in some cities but that can't be used for escorting!;) However what about the other escorts- do you think Grindr has hurt your business? Though there is some overlap the services offered are pretty different imho.

Or, your postings and attitude here on the forum cost you business?

And for the argument that not all clients read these forum, it would seem so obvious to me that your attitude and disdain for clients and this biz would be picked up on in your communications with clients

I MEAN THIS PURELY AS CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. People who know me know that I don't have a mean bone (well, one) in my body (except as it might pertain to he who shall remain nameless!)

Mocha - it would take up wayyyyy too much space to quote all your recent posts here. But I think Mike has hit it on the nose:

"...it would seem so obvious to me that yor attitude and disdain for clients and this biz would be picked up on in your communications with clients."

Many, many here on the Forum have said the same thing to and about you for several years. You need to step back, do something else for a while, re-brand (not just change your name again), re-tude yourself, and then come on back with a fresh smile on your face if this is really what you want to do.

I have many (I've said before that I am a slut) regulars and I dearly love all of them and would never think of pulling this shit with them or anyone else. Nor would I ever conceive of them having these complaints. And this goes for a few new gentlemen with whom I have had the pleasure (new to the biz AND/OR just new to me).

You quoted Jock123 (see above) saying:

"It's good to see another honest, especially another White honest escort discuss the industry in a matter of factly manner." Is there a bit of something other than the escort business there? Well, Jock123 also says that his regulars get him through the "bad times" and he is reminded that there are "good people" out there. That is the part of your incessant complaints that is missing. He gets it, you don't. Business is up, business is down. That's life. If it was always good and up, you could afford to lose almost a billion bucks like Mr. Trump did.

Take that deep breath, get through the Holidays, write all your complaints down and throw them away. THEN come back with a fresh smile on your face ready to have fun in what you do as well as in life.

The good thing about the forums is i can skim thru information without actually having to read the whole thing. Key words like constructive criticism automatically get filtered out and don't get read. Because i already know it's going to be a bunch of bullshit.

But per the last post, why you so worried about me? Are you sitting here in the driver's seat or are you on the sidelines just shouting out shit? You don't Fucking know what i go through. Maybe you hear about it and think you know, but you're not experiencing it. You're not experiencing the bullshit and getting backed up on bills and shit because of people who were a faithful regulars, suddenly became timewasters. Or the new clients who badger you for an appointment, which I Fucking bend over backwards to accommodate, and they don't show up to the hotel, as the OP's complaint suggest. Or...having paid for ads, $40 here, $80 there...with nothing to show for it for days or weeks. Are you dealing with any of that shit? No. So shut the fuck up, @funguy. Your mushroom head self trying to help but You're just pissing me off. I know what's going on. What we're going thru just needs to pass on it's on which i think will come during this new presidency. But...whether I'll be around to wait for it is uncertain.

It's very easy to tell someone to come back "with a smile". You are not a certified therapist. I don't have to listen to you. What are you doing for me? Don't sit here and tell me what i don't get. I have regulars too. From Orlando to Washington D.C. to northern Cali. If I'd said the same thing he said you would find some way to pick it apart too.

Now, i seen a little snippet of someone saying I'd have no suit against grindr. Something i also didn't continue on reading. The reason why i didn't read it is because he didn't bother to read what i said either so why should i burn my eyes reading some predictable nonsense?

I never said i would sue them. I said it wouldn't surprise me if down the line, something came up again where they were. It would probably not be directly for the reasons i stated, but something else. Occasionally grindr is a Facebook, majority of times it's G rated sex site. I mean...didn't the Orlando shooter have profiles on grindr? So far the only suit against them was a 55 year old who was prosecuted for having sex with a 13 year old. Google it. It was thrown out in favor of grindr, but still. If rentboy had done the same thing, best believe there would be stings and homelands security would have shut them down.

But because it's classified as a dating app...people get to pervert grindr in anyway possible and its okay because there's no money being exchanged. And that's why there are fewer and fewer new clients because of it.

Would you guys give that person another chance if he never wrote back like the original poster said but suddenly texted back a few days/weeks after saying he wants to try again? What if he calls/texts you ahead of time cancelling does it make it any better, what if he cancels last minute but texts you a brief hey cannot meet text, hmm your thoughts m4m community:oops::)

My experience is once guys start dicking around, it's time to bury them. Kill em dead (figuratively).

If they say something ahead of time, that's fine. But, last minute stuff is a bad sign. Anytime a man cancels last minute is a bad sign. Once we all graduate from escort life into dating and marriage life...that advice will behoove you. When the hubby makes elaborate romantic plans and then cancels saying he's working late or not coming home from his business trip....you'll know what's up.

Most my regulars who cancel last minute or do trick ass shit like not respond for days after making an appointment...usually end up getting nationalblacklisted. They do it again and again. Maybe they're married, who knows. But if they treat me as if my life is less important and deserving of honesty and integrity....they don't deserve any place in my life.

Like was said earlier by @pubic_assistance, clients have to be treated like any other gay man: like scum.........if they start to treat you like scum.
