NYC Meetup

Just wondering if the shit storm has passed long enough to renew thoughts on a NYC meetup? While I'd love to do Palm Springs in 2017, I don't think it's in the cards for me. NYC would be a bit easier for me, and I'd be happy with any venue, except Hooters. (too soon? )

Though I do think trying to plan anything like this via the forum has proven to be a recipe for fiasco.

 

It does seem to work best when (A) some group of someones just makes a plan and then (B) lets everyone else know how to get looped in for details.

If yinz (I had to myself say that, couldn't help, lol ...) plan something could you announce it two or three weeks in advance. Doesn't mean I could be there, but it would make it easier.

I know, it's absolutely appalling. Fifteen stops on a Sunderland flying boat is sheer hell.

And two 14 hour A380 or whatever flight segments Sydney-Dubai-NYC isn't much better. Seriously, though, SYD-DFW-JFK isn't too bad.

If ten or more people indicate they'll do their darndest to show up in Manhattan on Saturday, 10 December for an evening out (by this coming Saturday), I'll take this on.

 

Otherwise, I'm open to following someone else's lead.

Seriously, the week—the second week in December—is magical in NYC. No too many tourists or shoppers, as it's just far away enough from the Holidays … shopping is great …
